Easy to sharpening the chainsaw chain

Thought I liked this when first purchased,however went to use it on a dull chain last week and thought I used it properly only to find my saw cutting at an angle and not any sharper, so I then spent another 15 mins trying again,end result was no better.

I found the instructions a bit difficult to follow, however check out the You Tube video by wranglestar for a good tutorial on how to use and also his very positive view, which I wholly support of this first rate piece of kit. Although pricy, it is highly recommended

Until now I have always hand sharpened my chains without aid. I have just got one of these and the difference to the chain is phenomenal.

Arrived on time and as described, little expensive in my option but certainly does the job

When you pay this amount of Money you expect a new item, it's obvious this was opened, used, sent back, repacked and sent out as new again. Unacceptable

Ma chaîne était vraiment usée, elle ne coupait plus. J'étais très très septique que cet outil fonctionne et en plus je suis vraiment pas un expert. Ça m'a pris 2min pour comprendre comment utiliser. Tellement facile que j'en croyais pas mes yeux. Après 20min d'utilisation j'avais une chaîne comme une neuve. Elle coupe à la perfection. Je conseil cet outil à tout le monde.

I am not a professional but have been using chainsaws since I was 12 years old gathering wood for my family to heat our house. Now at 41 years old I use a chainsaw regularly to cut logs into various shapes for woodturning. I have struggled knowing the best way to sharpen a chain most of my life but do recognize the difference between a properly sharpened chain, a new chain, and a dull chain. After watching a handful of video reviews and instructional videos I was easily able to use this system and understand its value as a 2-in-1. It is also very important to assure the chain is at the correct tension and I found it helpful to lock the chain and sharpen three or four teeth then unlock it and move to the next batch. I was able to sharpen my poulan pro 20-in bar 72 tooth chain in right around 20 minutes. The results are amazing! I didn't realize I needed to do both actions to properly sharpen a chain and this tool does them at the same time. Clamping the bar in a bench vise greatly enhances your ability to easily use this tool with both hands. It is somewhat challenging to do with one hand and much less effective. I will never use any other sharpening system as long as I live.

Seems pricey but isn't when compared to the cost of a couple of new chains or the cost of having someone else sharpen your chains. I lent one of my chainsaws out recently; recently tuned, new bar, new chain. When I got my saw back the chain was so dull I figured he became confused and was trying to cut petrified wood. I clamped the saw in my bench vise and went at it with the Stihl 2 N 1 Easy File Chainsaw Chain Sharpener. The sharpener is extremely easy to use, it took me no time to figure it out. The tool has clearly marked directional arrows molded into the handles. Amazing results! My abused chain is as sharp, possibly sharper, than it was new out of the box and it took me just a few minutes to do the whole chain. It is so quick and easy to use that I will probably touch up the chain after every use. Highly recommended tool.
