A Reliable and Efficient Power Supply Unit
The EVGA SuperNOVA 220-G2-0650-Y1 is a high-quality power supply unit (PSU) that offers reliable performance and efficiency for both gaming and professional computing systems. This review will cover the key features of the PSU, including its build quality, power delivery, and overall value. One of the standout features of the SuperNOVA 220-G2-0650-Y1 is its exceptional build quality. EVGA is known for producing reliable and durable components, and this PSU is no exception. The unit is constructed with high-quality materials, ensuring long-term stability and resistance to wear and tear. The fully modular design allows for easy cable management, reducing clutter and improving airflow within the computer case. The power delivery of the SuperNOVA 220-G2-0650-Y1 is outstanding. With a 650-watt power rating, it provides ample power for mid-range to high-end gaming systems and professional workstations. The PSU boasts a high efficiency rating, typically above 90%, which ensures minimal energy waste and reduces heat generation. This not only leads to lower energy costs but also contributes to a cooler and quieter system operation. The SuperNOVA 220-G2-0650-Y1 incorporates a variety of built-in safety features. It offers overvoltage protection (OVP), undervoltage protection (UVP), overcurrent protection (OCP), over-temperature protection (OTP), and short circuit protection (SCP). These protections safeguard your components from potential damage caused by power surges, fluctuations, or electrical faults, providing peace of mind during operation. The PSU operates quietly, thanks to its optimized fan design. The 140mm double ball bearing fan provides efficient cooling while maintaining a low noise level. Under typical loads, the fan operates silently, ensuring a quiet computing experience. The fan also features a semi-passive mode, which allows it to stop spinning during low power usage, further reducing noise levels. In terms of value, the SuperNOVA 220-G2-0650-Y1 offers a compelling package. It provides a reliable and efficient power supply solution at a competitive price point. While there may be cheaper PSUs available on the market, the EVGA brand reputation, along with the unit's high-quality components and performance, make it a worthwhile investment for users seeking a reliable and durable power supply. One consideration to note is the physical size of the PSU. The SuperNOVA 220-G2-0650-Y1 is a standard ATX form factor, so it may not fit in smaller computer cases or compact builds. It's important to ensure that your computer case has sufficient space to accommodate the PSU's dimensions before making a purchase.

Wonderful PSU with enough Power & Reliability for Budget Builds.
It works very well and is one of the highest rated PSUs on JonnyGuru dot com. Overall this gives me the ability to run what I want (read what I can afford) and not worry about being under powered. It is modular and comes with nice "paper" type zipped bags to keep the unused cables organized. It also comes with a tester plug, which I used to confirm that my previous $20 (after rebate) PSU was in fact the issue. Surprisingly installing this new PSU in my computer, it booted faster and is slightly more responsive! I guess the little OC'ing that I did, did not have truly stable voltages!I would highly recommend this unit for the under $100 range, especially if you can get this unit on a decent special, which would have saved me $20 a month after I bought it, but did not want to have my PC down that long.It is very quiet, I do use the "ECO" mode, as it makes the fan even quieter as well, not to mention my system only uses about 300W at peak, for now. My SO can barely hear it, even in a quiet room. The only sound we really hear is the GPU fan, which is a crappy on hand unit that needs replacement. One of the very rare 5-stars I give.

A flawless experience
This PSU is pretty much almost perfect. I really liked the packaging the wires and the power supply come in. Its this sleek little bag and has an extra leather carrying pouch. I think the design and look of the cables and the PSU itself is great expect for the CPU cable. For some reason it has two 8 pin connectors attached to each other (for a second CPU). So that means when you plug in one CPU connector, another one is just gonna be dangling there. I dont understand this at all. For an option that <5% of people are gonna actually use and for a fully modular PSU, why is a second unused CPU connector basically mandatory? But besides that I dont have any complaints. The wires are nicely sleeved and durable. Easy to connect, use and set up. The ECO button on the back is also set to off on default and its pretty straight forward on/off button ( you would be surprised how that is not the case on other PSUs).As for performance I cant really speak much to tests, benchmarks and stuff like that but I never had a problem with my system due to the PSU. For the record im running a i5 6600k OCd 4.5ghz at 1.35 and GTX 1080 SC OCd to around 2015mhz. I might SLI later and will update this review with how that goes but i expect it to be amazing as it has been.

Exceptional power supply
I got this to replace my second tier 4 power supply (Thermaltake Smart 600W) after its capacitors started making weird noises like the first one. It was obvious right out of the box that this is a quality product. The cables and the unit itself both look sharp and professional. The modular design was also a huge plus. It came with a clip-on device for the motherboard power cable to test the unit before it is installed and enough Velcro cable management strips that zip ties were unneccessary.Cable management was a breeze. Note that, like most units, this PSU will likely perform best with the fan facing the bottom of your case (unless your machine is sitting on carpet or has short feet). If the fan is facing up, the text labeling the cable inputs will be upside down.Ran like a charm on my first boot. I'll never buy an inferior power supply again, it was worth every cent. Highly, highly recommended!

It's completely modular which is a plus (don't have to stuff extra cables in the case) and the cables are all a nice black, which while not flashy as individually sleeved ...
Got this power supply when my last one started smoking for some reason (Corsair GS600). I can't speak to the technical aspects, but so far, it's served all my needs. It's completely modular which is a plus (don't have to stuff extra cables in the case) and the cables are all a nice black, which while not flashy as individually sleeved cables, fits in with almost anything and looks really neat.In terms of noise, I almost always use headphones so noise wasn't going to be an issue, but for when I do use my PC without them, I never notice noise from the PSU.Definitely would recommend if you are in the market for a great and reliable PSU.

Died after 2 weeks. Nice design otherwise.
I ran my new PC with this for 2 weeks before one day, I had a game open idling in the main menu when I stepped out of my room for a second and immediately heard the circuit breaker trip in my bedroom. Went to reset it and the computer wouldn't boot. After testing the power supply with the standard method of shorting the PS-ON ATX pin to ground and hooking up a spare case fan directly to the 12V rail as a load, I was able to confirm with a voltmeter that this PSU was fully dead - fan wouldn't spin up and 0V on all rails.Re-installed my old power supply and everything booted up just fine, fortunately none of my brand-new parts fried (hence me not giving 1 star). It's likely that I just got a faulty unit, but I'd be careful if you're going to buy this one. I will say that I really like how the cables are all modular so you only need to plug in exactly the ones you're going to use. On the other hand, all the wires are black, which is pretty, but I'd prefer the standard color coding scheme where each wire's voltage is indicated by the color, it makes troubleshooting easier. Will update when I hear back on the RMA process.

The packaging is as luxurious as the PSU.
EVGA always outdoes itself. Comes with so many braided cables. Has eco mode switch - fans only turn on at certain temp - which is nice because my Strix GPU also has this feature. My case has a PSU shroud, so I don’t hear or see it do its work, but it’s always nice to have peace of mind that you have a cool and efficient power supply at the heart of your build.I have nothing else to say but that this is likely going to outlast this build and many upgrades to come, and likely make its way into my next PC.

Fully modular is excellent and wiring is well protected.
Product came in good condition. Fully modular is excellent, makes cable management much cleaner, though you could probably go semi-modular and still be good. The casing around the wiring is strong and sturdy, though maybe a little bulky (why I didn't give it the full 5 stars). Had a little trouble keeping the wires flat enough so that I could get my back panel on my case to close properly, though it could have just been my case (in which case I would give it 5 stars).

Works!
After building my PC in 2011, I didn't have to upgrade any components... Until now. The PSU was the first to go and this 650w is a great replacement so far (I changed from 1200w to 650w, and don't notice a difference at all). Great Buy
