what is the depth of the pan?

About 3/4”. It’s not that deep.

I bought a j beam skillet like this at a store and since day one it’s been turning my food black. why? what to do? been washing and drying it .

What kind of oil you using? I use olive oil mainly on an electric stove with no blacking issues. (I wash it lightly with minimal soap to keep it well seasoned)

I thought it was made in their Kentucky plant but the tag says China
