Read the book to my 7 year old in a full hour with water breaks LOL! Overall easy read a few words you will have to explain however the big words already equipped in the text were already elaborated. 7 year old understood everything from A to Z and enjoyed the comparison the book provided regarding Gandhi MLK and Nelson Mandela. I got a little teary eyed at the end. Beauty behind A painful history..

Book was a great tool for my students to learn about racial injustice and the impact of Nelson Mandela had on his people.

These are GREAT books for students in grades 3 and 4. Very age appropriate, but with just enough information to give them what they need for a report of project. The diversity of topics in this series is wonderful. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to do research with elementary students.

Love these books. My son, who is 9 has been reading them for a little over a year now and this book is wonderful. I must say that this one is not one of his favorites. He is a history junkey, lol. He so far seems to love the Jackie Robinson, Teddy Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, Robert E Lee, What is the world series the best as a 8 and 9 year old.I also read these to him in the evenings and I really enjoy them as a 40 year old father. I have learned so much from them as well. Sometimes I read them before or after my son in order to have an educated discussion with him about the subject of the book. I really also get alot out of them as well.

I think this is one of the best book I have ever read in my life. It tells who is Nelson Mandela and what he did for South Africa. I encourage you guys to read this book. This book truly is an awesome book. I love this book so much I am going to read more about Nelson Mandela.
