eRockets Tracking Powder Burst of Orange 1.25oz container, includes a scoop. Use as tracking powder for high flying model rocket's. Tracking powder is great for locating your rocket in the sky at ejection. At ejection a burst of Orange tracking powder is ejected into the sky. This powder has a very high dispersion rate in the air. Dispersion rates are up to 4 times greater than talcum powder or carpenters chaulk. This product is very kind to the environment and contains no harmful chemicals. This product does not stain clothing like carpenters chaulk. This product is ideal when used for optical tracking in competition. This powder weights at least 25% less than other powder tracking materials. This product is not water soluable, therefore sweet and water does not activate the product into a dye or paint. This product washes out of clothing and does not leave a stain. Use: Place loosley inside a model rocket. For altitudes less than 300 ft use 1 scoop, 300 to 900 2 scoops, over 900 3 scoops.

Messy Stuff
This is the first time I've used tracking powder. It was useful in allowing us to see when and where the rocket reached apogee. In at least one case I believe it helped us find a rocket that would have otherwise been lost. However, this stuff is messy. It gets all over the rocket and requires an extensive vacuum cleaner cleanup afterwards. While the benefit it provides is pretty cool, I will probably use it only when I'm launching a rocket extra high.
