The central pattern showing a lion holding a sprig is Alderney's coat of arms.Just like the Guernsey, the jumper must be made of British worsted wool. It is knitted with close stitches from tightly twisted wool and this gives it its ability to withstand sea spray and rain. This results in a strong, long lasting garment that will hold its shape better in both wear and washing.CHANNEL JUMPER LTDThe company was started as a Cottage industry in 1974 and has been registered in Alderney since March 1976. The intention was to revive the Alderney sweater which had not been in production for over 50 years, and to establish a knitting industry on the Island. Today the company produces the traditional Channel Island knitwear in a variety of styles as well as a range of contemporary knitwear for men and women.

Great jumper
The sweater is well made, warm and very comfortable to wear. The blue colour is actually much richer and slightly darker than shown in the picture. The design shows up well on the sweater. I love it. Will certainly be ordering from this company again.
