I like my hori hori garden knife. It is sturdy and a bit of a multi tool. The leather sheath is well made too, but I fear the dented blade of the knife will eventually cut through the stitches with regular wear. I'd love to hang the sheath around my waist but it has a loop for a belt, and I don't wear a belt. ,

What an AWESOME Tool! It works very well! I love this tool! I lubricated it with coconut oil before I started using it. It's the right size and easy to work around the garden. It's sharp. I use it to remove and cut the weeds and dig out the roots of the tall grass. I use it to plant my new plants. Cool! Furthermore, I received the tool without the whetstone. I reported it, and the buyer sent me a new set of tools for exchange. Every gardener should have this handy and well-made tool. It will last a very long time.

This is a solid tool for gardening and foraging. It’s very sharp, so keep that in mind while inspecting it! The serrated side of the blade does a great job of cutting through thick vegetation and small roots without difficulty. It is full tang, and the steel seems to be of good quality. I like that the depth markings are easy to read, too.The thick leather sheath that it comes with is much better than I had expected, especially for the price. It is genuine leather, and it’s well made with solid brass rivets and a sturdy snap.I would have given five stars, but the wood handle cracked on one side the first time I used it. The thick, rectangular handle is uncomfortable and awkward for my hands, so I’m probably just going to make a new handle for it.

This is the first Hori Hori I have ever purchased, so I can't compare it to others. However, I will be using this in the garden and will compare it to my garden trowels I have. First of all, this Hori Hori steel is of a much heavier construction. The steel shank goes all the way up into the handle. Most of my hand trowels have broken when I was digging out dirt. This Hori Hori is more like a mini shovel in that respect, and I doubt if I could break it digging dirt in the garden. The "spade" portion of the Hori Hori has both a very sharp straight edge for slicing and the other side is a serrated edge for sawing. The point is also sharpened. If the straight edge becomes dull, I could use the included sharpening stone. The spade portion of the Hori Hori has engraved markings from 1 inch to 6 inches (25-150 mm). Out of the box, the Hori Hori is very sharp. The included sheath appears to be made out of genuine cowhide leather and has heavy stitching. There is a belt loop on the cover which is big enough for my widest working belt. There is also a hole drilled into the top of the handle so you can hang up the Hori Hori in the garage if you want. In the past, I have broken as many as 2 or 3 cheaper garden trowels every year. This Hori Hori is built to last.

I bought these for gifts for my daughters and sister. They really like them. I'm thinking of getting one myself. They are sturdy and would be an asset to my gardening.

Best gardening tool I have, powerful and sturdy! I have mint roots that I've been trying to get rid of. This digs through them like butter. A great weeder and saws and cuts, very sharp. I chose this one because of the hilt, I don't want to accidentally cut myself. I'm sure this tool will last. It comes with a sturdy leather holder and a sharpening stone.
