Ruby Charm Colors Oceanimaginary: An Adult Coloring Art Journal Special Edition

The only reason I didn't give this book a better review is because the wonderful art is not on 1 sided pages. I can't wait to color in it. I like to use mixed medium, gel pens, markers, etc & I'm concerned about the bleed through on to the other pages. I bought the insectimaginary also. The artwork in both is amazing. The books give you the opportunity to play with your colors & experiment with different mediums. I can get over the double sided pages. I highly recommend this book. It's AWESOME

The artwork is gorgeous. The paper could be thicker for this book. Overall happy with the purchase.

Now that I got this I am able to keep track of all of my coloring supply’s, coloring books,YouTube channel, if it’s to do with coloring supply you can track i love all of the very beautiful coloring pages too I love how I can put tabs on it and categorize and organize I would recommend all of my kind friend I also have all of her other books too amazing work !!🥳

I have all of the Ruby Charm Colors books. They are all awesome. I haven't been disappointed with any of them.Oceanimaginary is full of wonderful, imaginative sea animals. The page on the right side is a highly detailed full page image. On the left side is space to keep notes or record your colors along with smaller images to test combinations or just for a quick color. Some pages have a black background but most are white. In the back are pages to swatch your pencils or whatever medium you may be using.

I loved the illustrations in here! But the paper is so thin, even colored pencil shows through to the other side

Good pictures, good quality paper. Fun to color. Some pictures have small details. My eye sight not the greatest so was a little difficult. But enjoyed most of the pictures!

I received this book today and I was so excited to color in it! I love all the artwork. Great illustrations and book design, with areas to plan your color choices. However, for the price the quality of paper used for the book is the worst. It is the thinnest paper I have come across in a coloring book. I have paid less for a hardback coloring book with paper twice as thick than this book has.If you only use colored pencils and have a lite touch you probably wouldn’t have an issue with the paper. However, you can forget using markers or gel pens as they saturate the paper to much. For example, I was using gel pens trying to blend colors together and next thing I know the paper is starting to ball up. So, I had to wait until the area I was working on dried, which doesn’t make it easy to blend colors. For me this was a big disappointment because I enjoy mixing different media types, so I will only give it a 2 star rating. For me, paper quality is a must!

I love the line art and the design layout of this gorgeous book! The artist gives you pages to test, record, journal, about each main plate. Additionally there are black pages, and page to chart your pencils on. Its everything a serious adult coloring book lover could want! I use, Faber Castell, Prisma color, Derwent inktense, and watercolor mica paints on the pages of this book.

Gleich vorweg: Ich finde die Zeichnungen in diesem Buch wirklich sehr schön und ich mag den Stil.Wären sie auf qualitativ hochwertigerem Papier gedruckt worden, hätte das Buch 4 oder 5 Sterne von mir bekommen.Das Papier des Buches ist allerdings zum colorieren so ungeeignet, dass es nur noch frustrierend ist.Ursprünglich hatte ich das Buch gekauft, um vor allem mit meinen Aqua-Markern darin zu malen, weil ich irgendwo gelesen hatte, dass Alkoholmarker gut in diesem Buch funktionieren würden - also dann evtl. auch Aqua-Marker. Gut: Eine Schicht mit meinen Aqua-Markern hält das Papier aus; bei zwei Schichten wird es schon schwierig (und zwei Schichten sind mindestens nötig, wenn man zwei Farben ineinander Verblenden will); bei drei Schichten riffelt die obere Papierschicht ab. Verblenden mit Wasser geht auch nicht wirklich; Aquarell mit Pinsel geht weitaus schlechter, als in anderen Malbüchern die ich besitze. Das Papier wellt sich sehr stark (was man ja wieder ausbügeln könnte) und saugt gleichzeitig das Wasser so schnell auf, dass es nicht zu den schönen Verläufen kommt, die man von Aquarelltechniken kennt.Gut, dann mal Buntstifte ausprobieren: Habe mehrere Marken getestet (Decotime, Kohinor Polycolor , Aquarellstifte von Arteza, Polychromos, Rombrandt Aquarell, Prismacolor Premier, Brutfuner) und kein Stift hat das getan, was er auf einigermaßen anständigen Papier tut (und ich rede hier nicht von hochqualitativem Künstlerpapier, sondern von Skizzenpapier und Papier aus anderen Malbüchern). Am besten haben noch die Polychromos funktioniert, aber wer diese Stifte kennt, der weiß wie gut man diese Stifte normalerweise schichten kann - bei diesem Papier war nach drei Schichten Schluss und das Finish war nicht ebenmäßig, sondern grisselig.Dann habe ich das Papier mit einer sehr dünnen Schicht Gesso behandelt; das hat sonst immer funktioniert, wenn ich auf nicht so guten Papier aquarellieren wollte. Aber auch dieser Trick hat bei diesem Papier nicht geholfen (keine Ahnung warum nicht).Das einzige was einigermaßen funktioniert sind meine Pastellkreidestifte (aber auch hier mit grisselig-körnigen finish und einfach nicht so, wie ich das von den Stiften gewohnt bin).Ach ja: Gelstifte funktionieren auch einigermaßen, aber damit male ich normalerweise keine Fläche aus und habe keine Erfahrung mit dem Verblenden - ich weiß also nicht, ob das in anderen Malbüchern besser geht als in diesem.Fazit: Ich habe mir im Laufe des vergangenen Jahres einige Malbücher zugelegt und bei allen war das Papier um Meilen besser, als bei diesem und gleichzeitig waren alle günstiger als dieses (sogar die Hardcoverbücher). Ich bin so frustiert über dieses Papier, weil die Zeichnungen wirklich zum Ausmalen einladen. Dieses Papier ist einfach nur absolut ungeeignet für Mailbücher (ok - für Mandalas und Muster bei denen man nur einfach eine Farbe neben die andere setzt, ohne zu schattieren, taugt es vielleicht gerade noch)Die einzige Möglichkeit, die ich hier sehe: Einscannen und auf anständigen Papier ausdrucken (oder zum Copy-Shop gehen, wenn man mit Nasstechniken arbeiten will. Oder den Online-Shop der Künstlerin besuchen und sich die PDF-Dateien kaufen (das geht mir persönlich aber zu sehr ins Geld).Also: 4 bis 5 Sterne für die Zeichnungen und 0 Sterne für das Papier.

Ein wundervolles Malbuch. Ganz wichtig: keine der ganzseitige Bilder sind abgeschnitten. Es wiederholen sich einige Ausschnitte, die noch extra ausgemalt werden können. Aber die Hauptseiten sind komplett und eingerahmt. Herrliche Motive die Freude machen.Wer Lust hat mit Buntstift zu modellieren und zu schichten sollte sich das Buch kaufen.

Wundervolles Malbuch für Erwachsene mit vielen Seiten. Toll finde ich die auf schwarzem Papier gedruckten Zeichnungen. Es hat viel Platz für Bemerkungen. Tolle detailreiche Zeichnungen. Einfach super

A beautiful collection of illustrations for the colourists in the world! Susan Carlson out does herself with every book in her collection! This one is a must have!

Love this book!! The drawings are beautiful. I really like that there are drawings with black background. Love it and I'm definitely ordering other Ruby Charm books.
