One year review: It works, clean it every time, don't need eye protection, goodbye strawberry legs!
One-year product review! I always used to have "strawberry" legs (visible stubble under the skin despite shaving) and lots of irritation. This product made my skin physically and visually smooth. I started on the highest level. As long as you shave well before (no missed hairs) and avoid moles, it is a 0/10 or 1/10 pain for me most of the time. Tip-- use white eyeliner to color over the moles so the flash doesn't zap them because that will sting (think: a rubber band snap but with heat). The only area that felt painful was my armpits, because I can't shave close there. After about 2-3 sessions, more than half the hair was already gone, so there is increasingly less poorly shaven hair to get zapped and sting. It's not as painful as waxing. You will not see the results from a session until several days or a week later. You are wasting your flashes if you do more than once a week because your hair grows in cycles, and a portion of the follicles rest in between cycles over several weeks. I saw amazing results in just 3 sessions, I barely had to shave. I have the ideal black hair on light skin. Be patient, you must commit to 12 weeks of 1x/wk treatment. I do maintenance once every two months. I spend about 15 minutes per leg because, in my experience, going fast on auto-flash skips too many hairs, and the results look patchy, which people then blame on the machine instead of the lack of thoroughness of their treatment. The large flash window is fairly small after all.You do NOT need to buy eye protection for at-home IPL like you do with laser treatments done by professionals. This is FDA-approved as eye-safe. This product will not flash unless fully connected to the skin. The "eye protection" included in cheaper kits is junk meant to sell the product. Most "eye protection" products on Amazon are not internationally certified to safety standards, they are just flimsy sunglasses made in China. That said, I advise not staring directly at the flashes too much.I used it before and after workouts/ showers/ outdoor activities in the sun/ alcoholic drinks with no problems.IMPORTANT! Clean inside the detachable heads with a dry (never wet) microfiber towel or soft Q-tip immediately after *every* use. Better yet, clean halfway during a session if you smell burnt hair. Any hairs you didn't shave will be fried onto the mirror parts, and they are difficult to clean off once they cool down. If you don't do this, the heads will get dirty quickly, and the unit will not work as well (think: a dirty window you cannot see out of).

Easy to use, does not cause much discomfort (for me), one+ month update below
I have read so many reviews and wanted to know a few key things-- so here it is on topics of: pain and can it do Brazilian. (I have only had it a week so cannot comment on efficacy yet, but by reading all the reviews, it seems like it works great for some people fast, great for some people slowly, and others, it just doesn't do great. Some ppl seem to give up if it does not work after 4 weeks, or if it shows reduction but not complete removal--go longer!!) [One month update below]So pain, for me: It does not hurt very much. I am using it on under arms which have little hair left post laser about 5 years ago. Also for every part of bikini/brazilian locations, it is mild discomfort, and fast. For me the sensation is like when you open a really hot oven and the air hits you, it is a hot hot air feeling in a small concentrated spot. There is a *slight* sting sensation where the follicles are, but it is hard to really tell what is going on. It lasts so briefly that it is not bad. I think that the more discomfort I get is from where the hair is longer, I think the long hair kind of burns up and gets hot and touches the skin.Sometimes where skin pigment is darker the sensor does not want to flash, but repositioning it will eventually figure it out. Skin pigment difference matter if you are interested in brazilian locations. Deeper skin tones down there may not flash. It is MUCH MUCH less painful than salon laser. I had a really hard time with salon laser pain on legs, underarms and just basic inner thigh type bikini line. This is worlds better. I do not have to steel myself for this, it is not stressful. My legs have very little hair left so going over them is pain free and fast. My skin is not that sensitive to this device, and if I go over a spot twice there is no after effect or burn. I try not to just in case it sensitizes over time. The most awkward part for me has been contorting to get the sensor flat on the skin, especially for bikini.I recommend getting a pari of dark sunglasses and wearing them while you use it. Gas station/supermarket wrap arounds with black lenses were what I bought. The light is super bright, and comes through closed eye lids. If you get migraines it may trigger one bc the light is super bright, and the rhythmic flashing may just bother you. If you have sensitive eyes to bright light, wear dark glasses. I wear them and turn away, or just put a hand over my eyes if it is not a lot of contortion to hold the device and press the button. One month update: I love this device. I use it more than once a week, I am impatient and have zero effects on my skin after using, no damage or burning. I do not rec doing this, just what I did. Progress with Brazilian areas has been going well. One month+ in and I now have experienced hairs falling out in parts of the brazilian area, leaving entirely hairless smooth areas behind. I have never had this level of hairlessness even with waxing years ago. Not all areas respond the same. Some still have clear regrowth with stubble typical of post shaving. I think i am a strong responder, and I was to laser as well. Underarms have no regrowth a month in, for the few hairs that were left post laser 5 years ago. Legs same. I randomly run it over thighs and have less hair, which was sparse post laser to begin with, plus I am older and have less hair than when young. I no longer feel as strong a need to wear sunglasses, and doing it in a bright room in day both helps me see all the hairs, and also lessens contrast so the light flash is less strong feeling. I feel zero apprehension doing this in brazilian area, minimal pain if there is a close shave. The razor that came with it is ridiculously good, and I ordered more blades. The main issue with Brazilian locations is contorting to angle the device to get all the spots. I get a little lazy and focus on easier spots. I highly recommend this to people with the right skin/hair contrast to work (see chart for hair/skin shades). I find it faster than laser, bc you don't need to wait many weeks between. It remains way less painful than laser, which was very painful for me. I feel like a salesperson for the device, it is so cool!!!

Buy the machine!
So I've been using this machine for about 2 months now, and all I can tell you is Buy The Machine!!! The areas that I use it on are my armpits, legs, and bikini. I started out with 2 sessions a week and depends on the sensitivity level of the body area, I used either the strongest or the medium level. 2 months in, and my armpits and legs are now hairless and smooth in between sessions, so I will go down to 1 session per week for these area just so I can maintain them in their current state. As for the bikini area, the hair there grow quicker so I will definitely stay with the 2 sessions per week. Bikini area hair are now growing thinner, and hair texture isn't as thick and coarse as before. It definitely took me a bit to get use the the machine, once in a while, I still jump when it zaps ^_^ but it isn't pain really, more of a mild discomfort. Just imagining a thin rubberband snapping on your skin, not something that you can't handle, right? The machine works great, but you might need to move it around a few times to get it to detect your skin on areas that are darker. Just readjust your hand position or body and Zap away.So guys, be consisent and don't give up, you will see result. Goodluck on your hair removing journey. Summer is coming ๐.
