Great Thing
Hello punkers and all.I like this album a lot. It's so cool when you can get to listen to different languages,in music, like spanish(and a little bit english)on this album)Here's hardcore and "easier" punk, like f ex. nr.13(is "easier")(if they number these tracks right, where you look at reviews and stuff),and this song has a piece of another song,(I don't know what it's called...some freedom-song?)and I think this song's great, maybe the best.I can't be really sure of what they sing, exactly,so I'm not talking about that.Nr.1 is then the Sex Pistols' song, sung both in Spanish/English in one song.("No futura para Mejico" they say)Great.Nr.2 I think this one is about a sick world. It's hardcore-kind.Great.Nr.3 I think is about that people die in masses, but I'm really NOT sure,so don't blame me,when reading this.Hard:ish.Great.Nr.4("No,que no puedo más"they say)Think it's about not being able to handle something anymore.Great.Nr.5 Starts with an news-kind of talking(like they've taken a bit of the daily news, and put it in the beginning of the song),where I think they talk about a murdered woman/wife.In the song they say something about pistols, blood and being not able to handle it,without the other person("amor,te quiero, sin ti,no puedo").Kind of great.Nr.6 This is hardcore. They say something about "regresar/progresar",but then I'm not sure.Great.Nr.7 Obviously about the fact that everyone is sick. This is hardcore:ish, and also slower at times.Kind of great.Nr.8 It sounds like Voodooo Glow Skulls or something.Ska/Hardcore-Punk with horns and stuff, you know.this is more of the hardcore kind. They have a known part, with the horns(or what it is..trombone,something else?).Think it's from a cartoon.Think it's about giving excuses why not dancing/like dancing.Great.Nr.9 Hardcore in english.Something about human-race,I think they say.Kind of Great.Nr.10 I t h i n k is about drinking and singing, and it sounds funny!hehe...the singing-style.Great.Also nr.11.has a kind of funny style of singing.(about being "normal",and something about society,I just t h i n k)Great.Nr.12 Sounds sad,"but"it's still punk-style on the song.Think it's about lost hope.("no me gusta...no espero/espera" as they sing something)Great.Nr.13 Has,as I mentioned before,a known part(it starts with it)"buscere transformar,no,no logradar",or something, they say,and I think they mean, that someone/they try to change them/themselves,but can't do that. It's an "easy-to-get-into-song"a bit.Great.Nr.14 Think it's about demons/The Devil, and stuff.I don't really like this one,It's kind of boring to me.Maybe quite ok.Now,remember,I'm not an Spanish-expert,so I MAY be a bit wrong, but I think I'm kind of right here. And If I said something was hardcore or else, which is not in your opinion, please don't bother,I think they are what I wrote, and I didn't write this or that, just to annoy(and I'm not an wannabe-punk,though I listen to different kinds of things, too)So,take care of each other.Peace,Love,Understanding(what's so wrong with that?)and Respect to the world.(When is it gonna happen?!)Bye.

Vare rare and great rock en español cd
When "rock en español" was the latest L.A. craze this small San Francisco label got some of the local bands and made this CD. The songs are of verying quality but all reflect the moment and vibrant scene that would soon come crashing down. The fall can be attributed to both major label greed and ethnic infighting in the spanish language community.
