Excellet, well marked, easy to read, strudy measuring tape.
This weights more than I had thought that it would...so it's SOLID, which is good. The numbers on the white tape are very easy to read. On the top side the scale is inches, and every 1/8th of an inch is marked, not only with a hash mark but by the corresponding measurement (such as 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, etc.). Also every other 1/16th is noted by a hash mark AND a red # such as 1, 3, 5, etc. So getting an accurate measurement in inches (and fractions thereof) is easy.On the bottom side of the tape is metric, millimeters and centimeters. Which is why I purchased this in the first place. And those are well marked, easy to read and make this a very worthwhile purchase. Finally, what I love most....that thumb "brake" that is suppose to keep the tape open so you can let it go and write down your notes or check the other side of the tape or whatever...well surprisingly enough...IT WORKS. I think this is my first ever tape measure (I'm 52) where that dam thing works.Don't hesitate on this one. It's a quality tape.

Best ever.
By far one on the best tape measures I have ever used. I am on my second one, I lost my first one, and it is a joy to use. The take is very easy to read, every quarter and eith and sixteenth is written out, so no more counting to see how many sixteenths you have, you can just read it right off the tape. It also features the x ft - x inches after the first foot for example at next to 41" it has 3F-5. It he built in pencil sharpener comes in handy too. I never really use the writing surface on it though, I have tried it out, but I find that paper is a lot easier. The belt clip keeps a firm grip, yet is very easy to opperate, it features your typical lock as well as a lock on the bottom that you use with your index finger.Their customer service is out of this world, I had an issue with the metal piece under the tip so I called them up and they sent me out a replacement no questions asked. I would highly reccomend anything from fastcap!

A Proper Tape Measure
I'm happy with this. Fastcap make some decent stuff. Has a good feel to it.

Feature packed tape measure - just what I needed.
Being that I am not a carpenter and sometimes do projects with other people who are also not carpenters, I love the easy readout on this tape measure! No more guessing or counting lines or having to explain to someone how to read a tape. Just read off what's right in front of you. That alone makes this is an invaluable tape measure. The second best thing about this tape is the write-on surface. I use it every time i take a new measurement and it's AWESOME and in a handy spot for when you go to cut. When you're done, just wet your finger and wipe it off.Regular size pencil sharpener is a nice touch too. I lose so many pencils that I finally gave up on buying the square contractor pencils. Instead I just buy a box of regular pencils and this little tape keeps them sharp for me. I can lose them all I want and just sharpen another one and off I go.My only complaint would be with regards to overall quality of construction. It does seem a little bit on the cheap side but not nearly as bad as some chinese made products. We had the tape get hung up on something and it developed a tiny crack on one side. That crack eventually led to the whole tape breaking and sending it back inside the body making it unusable. I opened it up and found an overall cheap construction inside. I contacted the company and they were very responsive and offered to send me another one out at no charge. It's been about 2 weeks now and I still haven't received it and don't know if I ever will but the company behind this tape measure sounds like they care about their products and their customers.Overall I am giving it a 4 star rating. I don't want to go back to a regular tape ever again, but I don't want to have to buy another one of these every few weeks either. We'll see how it goes......

Very handy with one minor flaw.
Found this while looking for a metric/inch tape measure on a whim: more of to see if they existed than to buy one. I did end up buying it, though, and was expecting sub-par quality that barely worked, just because it wasn't a name brand. That's not what I received. The tape measure is very well put together and the only flaw in its physical construction is that the end plate that you hook onto stuff is off by 1/16", in that it will move that much. You can glue it to the slide very easily though to prevent it from shifting. The only real flaw is that the metric side is marked in millimeters, not centimeters. It's not really a huge flaw - just move the decimal over one - but it does strike me as a curious way to go about doing things. Not a big enough flaw to ding a star though.Other than that, it's red and black lettering on a white slide, which makes for very easy reading and the metric side is useful for both metric applications as well as everyday things, like hanging pictures. Need to know where to put the nail? Don't bother with unwieldy fractions of eights and sixteenths, just divide the millimeter number by two.

Best Ever
This measuring tape is the best one I've used since I started doing repair work more than 50 years ago. The lock is solid, the markings are clear, the return spring is strong, even the belt clip has a lever on it that you can press to open the clip instead of having to jam the tape case onto your belt. And it measures in inches on one edge and in metric on the other edge. It stands out to several feet. I just might throw out all my other old measuring tapes and replace them with this one. It feels like it will last for years
