Hy-Ko Products ST-3 Number & Letter Stencils, 3 INCH, Tan

The stencils I received were just as expected. I have several sets of thin cardboard style stencils that I have accumulated over the years. I did not have the 3” ones that I ordered here. I really needed them, but was leery to order because there were enough negative reviews about them being flimsy, bleeding, etc., that I didn’t want to waste my money. BUT, I really really needed some 3” stencils and needed them fast. So I ordered. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED.The inserts were easy to punch out. Every stencil I have ever bought required punching out the inserts. So expect that if you order these.I used markers with these stencils to make the outlines so that it would be easy to paint the letters. One thing I NEVER do is use paint directly with a stencil, any stencil. For me, it is always a disaster waiting to happen. My experience has always been a bleed problem when using paint with them. You have to let them dry before reusing. But with markers, I can reuse right away. So these stencils held up just fine using markers.Bottom line is these stencils get five stars from me because I had really low expectations, and they far exceeded them. They have won a spot with my 6”, 5”, 4”, 2”, and 1” stencils that live happily in a plastic storage container. I feel like I have come full circle. And all it took was a stencil I expected to be crap that turned out to be an allstar! I hope the rest of my stencils will get along with these newbies.

A few weeks ago somebody swiped out $100 trash toter. After replacing it I decided that painting our address in bright yellow paint on all the sides was the best way to go. I found these stencils in varying sizes but was concerned with the complaints about the die cutting and separating the letters and the other pieces "inside" the letters. But, for the price I thought I could spend a few minutes sorting things out. Turned out to be quick and easy. I bought two sets because of the repeated letters in the address and the whole process took about 5 minutes. For the price they are excellent. They can be used over and over with the exercise of just a little care. Great product!

These are pretty standard stencils. They are a bit flimsy, but can't complain about the price.

Works great for posters

Used this on a children’s growth ruler. Looks good.

These are good, but less durable than I expected. Basically a single use product, and some paint will ooze under them. Overall good for the money but if you want to use it more than once, maybe twice these are not for you.

These stencils are just OK, I guess I didn’t look at the price when I bought them, nor did I read any reviews, because they were what I was expecting, especially for the price…They may be good for many applications, just didn’t work great for mine, though the job got done with a little clean up…They are not made of very heavy paper, and be careful popping out the guts of each letter as you could tare them…I’d recommend them for slightly delicate applications, and maybe straight-line type stuff, but definitely not for any situation that requires word bending or vertical etc..,tg

These stencils worked great for the camo paint project I did for my husband's compound bow case.They are fairly sturdy stock paper and the pieces punch out easily and hold up very well when spray-painting over.They are thick enough so you can grasp them when lifting after spraying, even with (thin, medical-type) gloves on.I used the same "O" four times on the case and it could easily be used many more times.I used it along with Krylon camo paints and the Scarred Skull and Crossbones Stencil I bought on Amazon, too.Hobby Lobby has the Krylon paints for much cheaper price but they didn't have the camo colors I wanted so I bought them here, too.Great stencils. They made an awesome looking case.Highly recommend these.

I was sceptical when I saw they were a thick cardboard-like material, but they worked great. I used a good amount of paint and can still reuse them multiple times.

Perfect size . Good quality stencil- easy to trace letters on. Did the trick for the poster I am making :)

I'm used to paper stencils being more rigid and cardboard thickness...
