Colorbasket Adult Front Handlebar Wicker Bike Basket

I just ordered this bike for a 26" beach cruiser and it's exactly what I expected. Below are a some quick pros and cons:Pros:- Lightweight- Installs very easily, no screws or hardware required- Good size, not too big and not too small- Has a handleCons:- While it does install easily, the velcro straps don't really allow you to secure the basket so that it doesn't shift, not a major issue, but just know the basket will wiggle- The wicker looks great, but it will be interesting to see how sturdy the basket is over timeOverall, this is a great basket for a good price. If you are looking for a simple basket that is easy to take on and off, this basket is definitely something to take into consideration. I've included some photos of the rear of the basket after it has been attached to the bike so you can see how the straps work, as well as a photo of the basket with two 2 liter bottles inside of it so you can get a feel for how much the basket can hold.

Basket is beautiful, but seems a bit fragile. But it's wicker so that's too be expected. My issue is the bracket: it is not very well made. I've only had the basket for about a week and part of the bracket has already snapped clean off while I was riding (I guess it was all those potholes). The basket was not overloaded at the time so I am pretty disappointed! I am hoping to just replace the broken piece or the whole bracket as the basket is still in great condition.EDIT:I made a request on the manufacturer's website right after the rack broke, simply asking how I might purchase a replacement. About a day later I had an email from them that a free replacement was already in the mail. It arrived in about 2 days (faster than the original package!) and was easy to attach to bike. So far it's working great!!! A++ for customer service!

I searched and read reviews for weeks before finally ordering this one. I haven't had it long so I can't attest to it's durability over years but it seems like it's durable enough to last for years if not out in the elements and kept inside, as I do. The size is perfect for me. I wanted to be able to throw my purse in it, and the bike lock, a jacket, water bottle, etc. Just essentials, nothing heavy or major. It works great for that.One star was deducted for not extending the velcro farther so it could fit snug. I strapped it on and I have to have it pretty loose in order to hit the velcro at all. So, it's pretty bouncy when I ride because the loop closures are so loose. They are durable though, and I like that part. It also hits my bike too low on the lower strap so I have to strap that where there is actually paint on my bike and there's a metal portion of the clip. To prevent that metal from rubbing on my paint, I pulled it through to the inside of the basket. That works. Again, though, it's a loose fit to hit the velcro. If you tighten the straps, there is no velcro to attach to, just plain strap. So, you have to loosen it to hit the velcro.The handle is nice but I won't be using it.Hope this helps!

This is a decent wicker basket; I can see the straps maybe not lasting as long as the basket. Installation was a little tricky; I needed to use the shims included to get a good fit, and getting all four screws to bite and screw in evently was a chore. I was initially disappointed and thinking about a return when, after following the directions given, the bracket could not be tightened adequately to prevent the basket from tipping forward. Then I realized there is an additional bar underneath that rests against the handlebar post that requires adjustment to your bike and tightening with an allen wrench (not included). Now it is very stable. I found it tricky to attach the basket to the bracket, and I will probably not remove it unless I'm leaving the bike somewhere for a long time. It isn't that easy to release either, and I think any thief would need time to figure it out. I plan to use it all the time and do like the option to carry it around.

We installed this basket on my wife's Huffy Cruiser and it attached easily and looks exactly like we expected it to. It's big enough to hold a small bag of groceries or a small bag of clothes for traveling to the beach. The only feature that might have been included with the basket was a third attach point to secure the basket to the frame. As it is now, it only attached to the handlebars.This is a quality product that will give years of service. Now that I have experience with it, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

I got this basket to go with my knee scooter after a foot injury that will take months to heal. It is perfect for carrying wallet, keys sunglasses etc. Can handle a short grocery store trip. Slides on and off the scooter easily when I need to fold the scooter for transport. The leather straps are quite sturdy and show no sign of wear after three months. It was even decorative enough to look pretty filled with flowers at my wedding (yes, I was a knee scooter bride.)

Very attractive basket, fits perfectly on my bike, very roomy, it's exactly what I wanted and needed. I previously had the Colorbasket woven "synthetic cord" basket, but I live in SW FL, and although I keep my bike in the garage the UV's from long rides in the sun turned the synthetic cord to brittle spaghetti within less than 2 years. The wicker should be more resistant...One quibble: the basket arrived with a card vaunting the sturdiness of its "solid synthetic cord" "so durable it can be cleaned safely in a dishwasher." No. This is the WICKER basket; that card does NOT belong with it.I'm writing this same review for model 01594 Adult Front Handlebar Wicker Basket, which I got at the same time.
