Definitely a page-turner...
I loved this book & could not get through it fast enough. Will definitely be recommending it to family & friends. I liked that the story line truly started at the beginning & followed through to the end covering a twenty year time period essentially. So many times I will read a really good book but the ending feels cut short when they don't follow through with the consequences the antagonist finally faces. After rooting for a particular character throughout the story it's so disappointing not to hear the details of how the "bad guy" finally got his due. Or it doesn't give enough background to support the ensuing drama that plays out in the story. This book had everything that makes for a great read & I will absolutely be looking for more titles by this author.

Toni’s former best friend who now is set on making Toni’s life ...
In high school, Toni wanted nothing more than to move out of her parent’s house and in with her boyfriend Ryan. Her mother constantly compared Toni to her younger sister Nicole, who was the well behaved child – the opposite to Toni’s rebellious personality. When Nicole befriends Shauna, Toni’s former best friend who now is set on making Toni’s life miserable, their relationship becomes strained.Toni thought her life was challenging, but she had no idea how much worse it was about to get. After Nicole is brutally murdered, Toni and Ryan are convicted of her murder…only, it wasn’t them. No one believes that they are innocent, including her own parents. Toni and Ryan are sent off to prison, and aren’t released until 15 years later.Told in alternating timelines, we follow Toni’s story in both the past and present and see what happened leading up to Nicole’s murder as well as her determination after being released to find the truth about what happened that night.I loved this book! I was hooked from the very first page, and really had a hard time putting the book down! The alternating timelines worked perfectly in this book, and I really enjoyed being able to see what happened in Toni’s past leading up to Nicole’s murder instead of just where she was presently. I think it gave a lot more depth to her character, and I loved it.I was constantly trying to figure out what happened to Nicole, and although I had one suspect in mind, I knew I was missing something…I was questioning everyone and everything to try and figure out what the motive for murder was! Without giving anything away, I will say that I was completely surprised when everything came to light! I didn’t see the twists in this book coming, and was talking out loud to myself when I was finishing the book! The book was fast paced, and even though it was almost 400 pages long, I never felt like it was dragging. There were a lot of components to the story aside from the storyline with Nicole, and I enjoyed the minor plot points as well, such as the friendships Toni made in prison, her relationship with Ryan and how it changes after being convicted, and I particularly liked Toni’s father. Her mother on the other hand…I hated her! I felt a lot of anger reading the story…I can’t imagine losing 15 years of my life for a crime I didn’t commit! So far, I’ve loved everything of Chevy Stevens that I’ve read, and have moved her other books higher up on my to read list! I think she’s a phenomenal author, and I’m a huge fan! I definitely recommend this book for fans of the psychological thriller genre!

Loved it!
This book started off strong and never let up. I loved how quickly the story moved, the characters and the details. This author didn’t give TMI at all, trusts the reader (thank you). I read a lot and rarely read anything review worthy these days, this was well worth the read and rating. Strong five stars. Thanks you, Ms Stevens!

Love this book
This is an amazing book, a book it couldn't put down!I have read 3 of Chevy Steven's books so far, and all of them have captivated me so much that I have gone without sleeping and eating as I get close to the end!As the book begins, Toni Murphy is in her mid-thirties, and getting out of jail (where she's been for 17 years) for murdering her sister, a crime she did not commit. The book goes back I and forth in time from the present (being released) and the l6 months or so leading up to her sister's murder. This book has everything: mystery, suspense, a love story, "mean girls," complicated family dynamics, and, as I've come to expect from Stevens, unexpected twists and turns I never saw coming. The very beginning was a tad slow for me, but once I got maybe a fourth of the way through, I was hooked.I held off on reading this book at first because of some of the negative reviews I'd read, but I think this book is right on par with her others, and any fan of Steven's other novels should not be disappointed by this one!

A page turning must read
As a big advocate of Chevy Stevens books I brought this one after reading “Always Watching” which, in terms of her usual calibre of writing, was a huge disappointment... so unfortunately I was expecting something alone the same vein.HOWEVER... I could not have been more wrong!!!This book was such a page turner and I finished it within a week - after work I couldn’t wait to get home to continue reading. This story melted my heart and broke it all at the same time. I found myself rooting for characters, genuinely feeling involved in their stories and hating their antagonists with the same passion and fire the characters would. Such a good read with a twist ending I didn’t see coming (and I usually do).A must read in my eyes

‘That Night’ by Chevy Stevens
So much hatred and lies leading to devastating events. Was good to see a satisfactory, if completely surprising ending to the story.

Awesome!
What's the saying? There but for the grace of God... I was Toni growing up; misunderstood, angry at everyone, scared of the "popular" clique; in love... And in one moment, everything was changed & life became a waking nightmare.I have NO idea how Chevy Stevens does it. In one book she's the victim of a crazy man, in "That Night" she's a teenage girl sent to jail (along w/ her boyfriend) for a crime they didn't commit. While I'm sure that becoming a teenage girl again wasn't difficult (just a nightmare) but a teenager in jail? The insight she gives to each of her characters, the ability to show her readers the heart & soul of those characters is a gift; one that keeps on giving.

Spannend
