Good quality for the money

A very long time getting around to doing the job that needed this.A main reason for getting this one was that it said it had a Euro Lock - IT DOESN'T, the measurements all smaller than a genuine Euro Lock.The keys are not substantial and I suspect will easily break as the mechanism isn't the smoothest even when new.Not a genuine Euro Lock so no replacement/additional keys possible.Good feature that the door face plates bolt through with no screw showing on the outside, unfortunately they couldn't be bothered to give the measurement so the drilling has to be done by guesswork - in other words an accurate hole from the inside and enlarge it massively from the outside to allow for not being able to drill at a precise angle by hand and with the door in place.Don't waste your money. Plenty of alternatives available with standard measurements, good or better quality and at a comparable price.

Very early days to comment on overall quality and durability etc. But the general look and feel is very nice. The handle sits well in your hand when opening and closing the door.Only one thing to note - the parts labelled 5 & 6 in the illustration, the part that fits in the door frame, are very poor, lightweight and flimsy and I wouldn't think they would hold up to much and could easily be forced. I replaced this with a brass constructed one.The fitting was no more difficult than any other door handle and lock.

Nothing about this product is standard. Standard size for the Mortice Sashlock is 64mm (d) by 102mm (H) and the spindle centre is 44mm in the UK and Ireland. This one is significantly larger, ( the spindle is 44mm) so you need to re-cut the door to get it to fit. even the front plate is longer.I fitted it and its a beautiful lock.Unfortunately i needed to change the Euro Cylinder to a new set which has a master key, and then the shocker - even the cutout on the mortice and the handles for the lock cylinder is different to the standard. Bizarrely is significantly smaller.So i had to fit a new standard mortice and new handles but now the cutout in the door is too large, so i have had to glue some pieces of wood in. lots of work.

Lovely handle no sharp edges, smooth and works well.

Missing locking screw and missing bucket box, not great at all pretty useless without the locking screw

I bought 3 of these locks and handles as replacements for chubb style locks as it seemed good value for money and the handles fit over an existing hole in the door. However, the key in one of these locks started to be difficult to rotate and eventually snapped in the lock. It wasn't possible to replace it with a standard euro lock as this is much smaller (and lighter as it turns out). Fortunately I had a spare lock (from the third one) so I was able to swap it out.Customer service responded very quickly and sent me a replacement set (handle and lock). Unfortunately, it was sent from amazon warehouse and arrived with a key broken in the lock. Clearly someone else had the same problem.I won't buy these again. Will just have to spend more on getting a proper thumb turn locks.And I should read the reviews from other people a bit more carefully!
