Sooo I had done some research on jade facial rollers and decided to take the plunge without breaking my budget. Let me tell you this is a quality set, and I have loved getting to know and use this facial system. Super well packaged. It's very soothing and cooling, and I do feel like with consistent use it will help with circulation and fine line reduction. I love the packaging with a little velvet bag that's nice enough to leave on my bathroom countertop. It rolls smoothly. Now if I can figure out how to use the "nubbed" roller, I'll be set! haven't tried the full Gua Sha method but plan to, using the flat Gua Sha stone and some facial oil.

Let me start by saying that I've been a skeptic of jade rollers since I started seeing them appear in the beauty community. I'm not a person to jump on trends, especially when it comes to skincare, since they tend to pass by quickly. However, I heard rave reviews about jade rollers and Gua Sha tools and stumbled upon the Matykos brand and am SO GLAD I DID.I try to be as socially conscious as possible when buying new products (I tend to do a lot of thrifting) so when I saw that they locally source jade and send certifications of its genuine nature with all of their products, I warmed up to them even more. A big pet peeve of mine with beauty products is that they can be made cheaply, especially with trending products--this is not the case with Matykos. Their jade roller is heavy, smooth, and doesn't squeak at all which is a common complaint I've heard from friends who have bought more poorly-made rollers. Apparently they spent a lot of time investing in this and have a specific patent to Matykos which I totally took for granted since I haven't tried other brands. It may sound like a little thing, but not having to deal with a screechy jade roller is one joyous celebration I can have when using this already great product.The actual experience of using it is nice too. It feels a little funny to just be rubbing your face with it but I swear that my cheekbones were popping, my skin had this healthy flush to it, and when I looked at before/after pictures of my face, it seemed like I had some face swelling that had gone down which I didn't even realize I was there. The gua sha tool is cool as well, much more for gentle scraping versus rolling, and as someone who has acne I was worried about it irritating my skin but it has no rough edges and made for a relaxing type of experience. I asked my partner to do the scraping actually and then did it to him as well and we both felt like we were getting a professional facial. Which I would never spend money on, and now I don't have to since I have these! (JK JK still go visit your local esthetician but use these in the meantime)Bottom line, I was not sure what I was going to think but here I am writing a rave review about the product. I am a bit of a self-care junkie and I have been eyeing a jade roller for a few years but just couldn't bring myself to buy one. I have gua sha jade and rose quartz tools and have used them for around 10 years before I found this set. I found this set and decided to treat myself, I figure anything to support myself during this pandemic is worth it.Well, the set was very well packaged. I would say that as is it would be giftable. The roller, massager and scraper didn't budge in the box and arrived in perfect condition. The color was very pretty, tools aren't jewelry quality jade so they might look a little different, but these tools are actually quite nice. The massager tool was a little on the rough side at first but I found a good pressure that worked well. The roller is great, I wish I didn't wait so long to get one. I like dipping it in cold water to keep it extra cold as I use it.I'm very happy with quality of the different tools, the roller and massager are totally silent which is a big issue with a lot of the cheaper rollers. Some people can tune it out, but I am not one of them lol. The massager I would use maybe once a week but I have fairly sensitive skin (rosacea and perorial dermatitis) the roller I like to use daily and the gua sha scraper twice a week. There are great gua sha tutorials on YouTube, for a beginner I would take time and be extra gentle as you start because you can bruise yourself if you're not careful.If you are on the fence about your purchase like I was, because it feels a little frivolous, I can honestly tell you, I feel no buyer's remorse and a little bit better taken care of with this in my self-care tool box.I will definitely buy some more as gifts this year because I like them so much I want to share the indulgence with my loved ones.
