Finally got this heater to work. The instructions are the worst I've ever dealt with. If you call the engineer you will get more information for the install. If you do not have years of circuit and electrical experience, I'd pass. My friend who helped me install this put in the Chinese knock off heater in his van and it was running in 2 hours. This one took several weekends to install. The DVD is not a video on how to install it, it is just written confusion. The engineers will send you clearer instructions if you ask them, but still it's hard. The Chinese one can just turn his on and off. This one requires reading a manual to operate, there are too many options. I just want heat on and off.Mainly the electrical is over complicated and over engineered. The controller is not user friendly. There are multi pin connectors that you will need to attach during the install. These things require a professional pin connector tool that most people do not own. I'd pass on Espar, unless you have a certified shop install it, I had someone with 40 years of electrical systems experience help me and it took 3 attempts and 4 calls to the company to get it to turn on. The directions are just awful. Espar needs to make a how to install video. I could easily install one now that I know how. A youtube video would have saved me several hours and frustration.
