I had an old DOT mount that connected directly to the Echo DOT and plugged into the wall - no cables. It was clean and professional looking, not to mention practical. When I looked for a similar solution for my 3rd Gen DOT I was disappointed to find that there was nothing comparable. Solutions whereby you were to coil (and pinch the cable) in a housing made of cheap and ugly plastic. Once you plugged it in it was likely to fall out due to the weight distribution unless you had an outlet where the prongs were held in an unnaturally tight manner. I was so happy to find this solution - plastic is a bit thicker, and the unit allows you to plug the DOT directly into the housing, no cables to wrap or hide - you'd think more vendors would have figured this out. The only negatives I can think of is that 1) The unit covers both outlets, this is not a problem in my situation and I am glad to trade this inconvenience for the look and functionality this unit offers - 2) the name DotDock is in raised letters on the unit, looks a bit ugly and dated, but you will not notice it as it's in the same color and does not detract significantly from the nice quality appearance. You really have to look closely at the unit to see it. This is the best solution you will find out there. I stumbled (luckily) onto this one. Based on the comments from the seller they may discontinue selling this. I certainly hope not!

This is so sleek and brilliant! Love that there is the least amount of bulk and no cords. More expensive than most others but I’d say worth it.

Very handy Outlet Mount for the Echo Dot 3Gen. I bought 2, and 1 came in a box and the other was just wrapped in bubble wrap along with its parts bag and instruction sheet. The one in the box arrived in great shape but the bubble wrapped one had the power connector that plugs into the Dot bent over. I contacted TecScan to report the issue and they immediately told me to throw the bad one out and they sent me a replacement. The replacement was just bubble wrapped like the previous one but it arrived in perfect shape and works fine. So A+ for TecScan Customer Support.I have one of the mounts installed 'normally' (in the bottom half of an outlet) and one installed upside down (in the top half of an outlet). It work great both ways and doesn't block the other half of the outlet.

I am a tech geek, so I have an echo dot in every room in the house. I control all the lighting and a couple of other electronics with Alexa. I have them grouped to I can play music in any room, or throughout the house. But, I wanted to put one in my bathrooms but did not want the wires hanging from the outlets. I previously purchased one that used the plug and wrapped the wire behind the echo dot, but it was big and bulky and still took up too much space. I saw this and decided to try it. It exceeded my expectations, so I purchased another one. It eliminates the wires completely and takes up almost no space in my bathroom. It is sleek and stylish. I love having an echo dot in my bathroom to listen to music, news, whatever.

This is a simple yet elegant solution to wall mount an Echo Dot. It replaces the wall wart and also holds the Dot firmly in place. It includes a "fake" ground plug slip-on for added grip in grounded outlets. We use this in our bathroom, and it is the perfect solution! It would also work well in a kitchen, but we have the Show 5 there. I am slightly concerned with wear on the outlet because of the weight of the Dot, but as long as your outlet is installed properly (mechanically fastened to the electrical box mechanically fastened to a stud) and you don't knock it around too much, it should be fine. Highly recommended!
