Foldable gripper tool Update 5/9/23
Excellent gripper with rubber porcupine type, tip gripper. The rod is a metal tube which can hold weight. We really like the foldable feature with the ability to hang this on a nail or hook for storage until you need it. My wife is under 5’ ( 1.52 meters ) and has trouble reaching things on our upper cabinets and shelves, even with this, but less so now. Reaching things behind heavy furniture is easier since this has clips that can hold a small flashlight when in use. ( the clips hold the folded part of the device when folded ) I included some pictures. The flashlight I used is a Maglite and I had to use a rubber band to hold it in place, but included this to help you understand what I improvised. The camera compensated for the low light and the surroundings look brighter than actually were. Update; Jan 25th. 2022: this thing broke! The grabber is all plastic except for the metal tube. The part that folds, broke apart when I went to unfold it. I redact my recommendation for this product. The hinges should be made of metal and not plastic. See newly attached photos. Notice the screw? That is the hinge point and the bit of plastic sticking up broke off. I had to tape it and zip tie the plastic hinge tube to hold it together because otherwise the tube is held together only by the wire for the grips. 2nd. Update; April 19th. 2022: Seller sent me a free replacement. It’s longer than the previous version which my wife of under five foot finds extremely helpful. So far this unit has held up to frequent, almost daily use. The other grabber we had to zip tie and gorilla tape the center and is only useable for VERY lite use picking up rubbish. These things can pick up items like a glass jar of under 5 lbs. and such but make sure you have a good grip. If not then glass will slip out because the grips are only at the tips but the rest is bare metal. This item is designed for lite, home use only. UPDATE 5/9/23: the replacement we were sent has been holding up to constant, home life use and has not disappointed like the 1st. item so therefore I have increased the rating of this product.

Very good for picking up cans, bottles, cups. No complaints at all.
This worked extremely well for picking up glass wine and plastic liter bottles, cans, and cups. The grabber was strong enough to hold full wine and liter bottles. It would also close tight enough to pick up plastic cups. Being able to fold it up was very convenient for walking.

Good folding grabber.
Easy to use and longer as well as a little more rugged than most of these devices, it seems to work very well. I like the fact that it folds up for taking it with you. Of course the grabber function doesn't work when it is folded up. I have an electrical outlet that is difficult to reach and I was able to grasp the plug with this grabber and plug it right in. The magnets in the claw end are also useful. It is a little more expensive than the other ones I have seen.

Leaves a lot to be desired
I got this to help with everyday uses for my wife who has arthritis in their hands. I tested it out myself to see if this would work for them. This is what I found: I was hoping for something that would make grabbing stuff a little easier but this was not it. The grabber requires a decent amount of finger strength to fully engage the grippers so not a good start. Made of pretty flimsy feeling plastic so I’m not sure how long it will last. The tips of the grippers are slanted outwards and don’t fully clasp shut together so this makes it harder to pick up anything that you’d need more precision to pick up, like dropped coins or sheets of paper. (See pic) I tested it out with a single key to see how long it would take to pick up. Took me a few tries to get it but I’m sure for people with limited mobility in their hands, it will be a lot harder to do this with. (See video) I do like the ability to fold it up and the included arm hook for neat and space saving storage. It also is fairly easy to rotate the head to fit into different areas you might need to reach, like under a dresser. The lever to lock the arm in position is easy enough to maneuver and I do like the silicone grip, as it helps to keep things more secure, but I wish the tips fully shut to make better use of them - a design flaw that will hopefully be adjusted in the next model. It can hold empty soda cans and water bottles decently well but this grabber leaves a lot to be desired. I also find I need to hold the arm up with one hand when picking up heavier items as it feels like the arm is straining under the weight. Not a good sign for long term use. All in all, it’s a fair grabber for basic uses like picking up empty cans and bottles but don’t expect much more out of it than this. I don’t recommend this for anyone with limited mobility in their hands.

This Grabber is Strong Enough to Hold Up
I have purchased (and tossed) so many of these grabbers I could probably fill a store. The grabbers fail or cannot pickup anything heavier than cloth. The pole breaks. There are a million reasons why they don't last. This one is different, it is sturdy, has a collapsible and reinforced pole and a grabber hand that is strong enough to actually grab something heavier than a tissue. You receive two of these in the box which is great (one for the kitchen and one for the garage). And because the pole is collapsible, you can store it easily. It is really well designed. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. And, I think this one is a keeper.

Broke within a month
I don’t know the detailed circumstances because I bought this for my father, but I do know one of the grabbing fingers broke off less than a month after he got it. He’s in assisted living so he couldn’t have been trying anything too strenuous.

Great grabber
Nice and compact, easy to use, much stronger than the little grabbers we've had in the past.

This grabber is handy and works well, however, I don't recommend it for heavy items. It could be used for reaching items high up in a cupboard, things like a can of soup or a small boxed item. It's made of sturdy plastic and it east to use. I really like the folding option so it can be easilly stored. I used to have a similar item for picking up garbage outside and for that this will do an great job. It came well packaged in a nice box. I do recommend this but not for heavy items.

Best teaching tool. I didn’t actually need this for any specific purpose other than just having it on hand. I’m so glad I got this. It’s made from nice solid aluminium with a nice steel cable pulley. Strong hold on the claws. Can’t imagine anything of this quality in retail shops.
