Good Little Basket, But Only Pay $2
I bought this product for an extra bedroom that only needs to have a few clothes kept off the floor and I'm satisfied with that. I didn't want a hamper with a large footprint -so 13X13, is great - the black mesh just about disappears in the room when empty.I can't see a college student using this for a dorm (especially in a cold climate where clothes are bulky), unless they have time to wash more than once p/week. It's too small and the handles feel flimsy. It wouldn't last through the first few loads! You have to be careful not to over load it because the handles feel as if they will tear off even if clothes are just loosely filled to the top with a few blouses, 1 pair of jeans, and a couple of nighties. To avoid tearing it, I carry it to the laundry room.I like things neat and must have "just had it" to pay $7.50 for this item. It's an item you can pick-up at the drugstore for $2! So, wait for CVS or Walgreen's to put it on sale and save >70%! ;-)

Bajer Design Pop-Open Laundry Hamper works but handles are thin which hurt hands
I have used many different pop-up hampers over the last six or so years. Lately I have been having a hard time finding one similar to the ones I had been using for awhile that I love. Over the years, the sides will get a larger hole in them and need to be discarded, but we use them daily, so it is expected. I decided to try these. I ordered several. They work great for holding the laundry. My only fault with them is that when carrying them down two flights of stairs, they hurt my hands because the handle straps are so thin. I have owned several brands and so far it seems the ones I have with a Sunbeam tag on them are the only ones that actually have a thick enough strap on them to be comfortable on the hands to carry the laundry. Otherwise, the product is great!

Okay, but only because of the price
This hamper is okay, taking into consideration its low price.Like other reviewers have said, the handles are really thin, making it feel as if they could tear at any time. I would like to add that the thin handles also make carrying a somewhat full load of laundry fairly uncomfortable (it's usually better to not use the handles at all).Other than that, I've had the hamper for a couple of months now, and it's still holding up fine.

Can Handle Some Abuse
I have owned this hamper for about a year, and as a college student I would put it through the worst conditions imaginable. I crammed in way more laundry than it should carry, threw it around, and more. That said, it has mostly held together. I say mostly because it has developed some tearing around the edges, specifically at the top of one of the four sides, and I fear it may be on the way out. The handles have, surprisingly, held up to the abuse through which I've put them. This was good for the price, having lasted as long as it has. I will, however, probably choose a different hamper as a replacement, as I will likely continue to abuse my laundry in the manner to which I have become accustomed, and I need a hamper that can take it in stride.

It was made for the "Little Old Lady Who Lived in a Shoe"
First, the computer I use is in the library--not my apartment, so I thought I was ordering a standard size to replace my worn out hampers. It was so small I doubt one day's items would fit in one hamper. Since we have no printing capacity, I couldn't secure a label to return these, so I gave them to a neighbor who has next to nothing--really a small act of charity. I guess it's my fault for not knowing the size of the original ones but my original ones correspond to all the ones I see people use in our laundry in a bldg. for over 200 residents. I hate getting burned. What I re-ordered is bigger and less expensive than your "petite" product. If I had a car or a bus went to the stores that carry what I need, I wouldn't use the computer to order! That's the bottom line. Returning an item when you can't print a label is a royal pain!

but the hamper works just fine if you pick it up by the bottom
The handles are a joke, but the hamper works just fine if you pick it up by the bottom. It's much less awkward to maneuver around a house than a hard plastic clothes basket.Quality depends on which batch you get - the original black colored ones I ordered seem much sturdier. The later white and blue batches are already starting to fray in the side walls.Overall, you get what you paid for - I still use them but subtracting some stars because of inconsistent quality.

but that's fine for me
Since I paid less than $5 for this hamper, I'm not complaining too much (I would be if it had been more expensive). Overall, it feels cheaply designed and manufactured, but that's fine for me. I just needed something that would hold one washer load of clothing (just the right size for that) to use while sorting. I try to handle it somewhat delicately because it feels like it would rip easily. It serves my needs so it's getting 3 stars.

I wish this were just a few inches bigger, ...
I wish this were just a few inches bigger, it fills up way faster than the old one I was replacing (they don't say the dimensions when open on the site, just the shipping size, but it's definitely a few inches smaller on all sides than the hamper I was replacing). I've had this one a couple years now and it's torn multiple places, I had my previous one (of a different brand) over ten years before this one..
