Just the phone I was looking for!
My cell is my main phone, but I have a land line in case of earthquakes (last big one we lost power but not phone service - !). I just didn't like not being able to screen calls so I pay for caller ID. Then I tried to find a phone that was (1) small in size, (2) compact in design, (3) would accommodate extension cords on both the hand set and the base (have a small apt. and like to carry it around with me). This was the ONLY phone I could find that fit the bill, AND was so inexpensive! Yes, the buttons on the back of the handset were annoying at first as I also kept hitting the disconnect accidentally while talking at first, but I adapted and it doesn't happen any more. And yes, it would be easier to read the caller ID if it were back-lit (BEWARE - the photo makes it look like it is back lit and it is NOT) but not a big deal to me as the phone rests on a shelf under a lamp. Had this phone for about 6 years - look a beating as I had dropped it a number of times - and it finally gave out. Phone worked, but caller ID didn't. Could ONLY find a replacement on Amazon. Looked all over and no other phones fit the bill - WAY too large and bulky, cordless (won't work if power is out), much more expensive, etc. Was so thrilled to find this tried and true model on Amazon that I bought an extra for the future just in case. Cannot go wrong for the price - and you can change out the cords with standard phone extension lines.

good product but wishes I had and instruction book with it.
The basic phone works well but I did not get an instruction book with it so I don't know how the other functions work

Works as expected.
I actually use this for my shed. The previous phone did not have caller id so I never knew who was calling. Now on the rare occasions that the phone rings when I’m out there I don’t have to guess if it’s a spammer or not. Plus it’s great to have at least one hardwired landline in the event of emergencies

Needs More Weight & DIFFICULT TO READ -- Donating to Salvation Army
Just okay ... basic phone that works. I purchased it to replace the cordless phone in my bedroom so I wouldn't have to worry about whether it was charged.Pros:- Trimline ... doesn't take up much space- Three levels of volume controlCons:- Cord that inserts into Wall did not fit. Had to remove one from a phone already installed/in use somewhere else in the house.- I got this to put by my bed. Coiled cord is too short. When you pick up the receiver and try to talk ... the phone falls off the bed side table. Just slides right off. It is too light to stay in place... no matter where you put it. This is more than annoying.- Biggest problem I have is that I cannot see the display unless I'm standing right over the phone with a good light on. So I still keep a cordless phone in the room that announces who is calling. The caller ID on this phone is totally useless to me.Yes, I know it is easy to charge a phone. However, as the sole caregiver to my 90 year old mother who is ill, remembering to charge all the phones is not something I consistently remember to do. So I want a reliable phone nearby that I can rely on.So, this phone is going into the Salvation Army box.Why can't anyone produce a phone that is worth having? I'm glad I haven't gotten rid of my old phones, but caller ID would help. Will have to see if they still make the caller ID boxes that you could attach to phones. It would mean more cords, and another box ... but if I remember right at least you could read them.

Nice cute phone!
Cute phone for my night stand. Nice ring and easy to set up. I could have given it a four star because the time is so hard to see (tiny). Again I have not been by this phone when the phones rang so I don't know how the other letters show. I have a alarm clock right by the phone so I can look at my clock instead. It works for my needs.

Nice AT&T brand trimline phone.
Good quality trimline style AT&T brand phone with caller ID and call waiting caller ID as long as you subscribe to that service with your phone company. Hands cord is short, so I bought a longer cord on Amazon. Needs batteries to power the call display

Caller ID useless, button presses delayed. Annoying to hold and dial with.
I've had the phone only a few months and the batteries I put in have already died. I went to dial someone yesterday and realized that I could no longer call anyone from this phone. I took the dead batteries out. I tried again, still no ability to dial. I let it sit there for about a half hour and finally I'm able to dial out! That is absurd!Since I've had the phone at least a few months I'll review it more completely. The phone is not comfortable to talk on long-term. For short conversations it's fine.Dialing is annoying because the Caller ID buttons on the back get pressed while dialing. There is no way to avoid it. I haven't yet had an issue where it dialed the caller ID shown on the screen while I was manually dialing, but it's a possibility. The Caller ID screen isn't backlit and has terrible contrast no matter what setting is chosen. You have to be looking at it at JUST THE RIGHT ANGLE to see it. I've kept it on my desk and at the angle I sit compared to the phone the caller information is useless to me. Since my landline/VOIP phone service isn't my main phone I don't tend to need the Caller ID anyway.I tried hanging the phone on the wall and had no issue with it staying up (by flipping the handset holder the opposite direction). The people complaining that it doesn't work probably aren't also flipping the bottom plastic piece that switches it between wall and desk-mode. Check the User Manual, it discusses it.
