Great taste!
I love the taste, color, and overall quality of this buckwheat flour. It makes the best buckwheat pancakes, ever! The flavor is just as it should be, hearty buckwheat flavor. We add organic blackstrap molasses to our batter to further enhance the buckwheat flavor. I actually make buckwheat crepes, not pancakes. And OMG, are they delicious!!! Thin with crispy edges, buttered hot, and rolled up, ready to dip in dark maple syrup. No fork needed. My grandmother made buckwheat crepes for us as children over 70 years ago. And I’m keeping the tradition alive with my children and grandchildren, using only Bob’s Buckwheat flour. Always fresh, always delicious!

Buckwheat Flour makes great Waffles
My husband and I got hooked on buckwheat flour waffles but Bob’s Red Mill is no longer available in any of the local grocery stores. Fortunately, Amazon had the flour. Flour tastes very fresh as well. For anyone who is interested, the recipe is a slight modification of an old Better Homes and Gardens cookbook one. I use 50/50 buckwheat flour and a low protein white flour (white Lily), an extra egg and preferably buttermilk instead of milk.1 cup buckwheat flour1 cup plain flour3 teaspoons baking powderSift togetherAdd 1/2 cup neutral oil (grapeseed)1 3/4 cups buttermilk3 egg yolksStir to combine.Whip the 3 egg whites to a soft peak in a separate bowl. Then fold the egg whites into the rest of the mixture.I use about 1/2 of the mixture in a small waffle iron. Bake until the steam coming off is greatly reduced. You want crispy waffles, not soggy ones.Works great. Just don’t do like I did and use coconut flour. The coconut flour was ground so finely, it required a lot more liquid. The resulting waffles could not be dried out satisfactorily. I think the mix would have made good pancakes however.

Good stuff
I love this buckwheat flour. I had accidentally bought a bag of the light kind (different brand) and it wasn't as nice. I do enjoy the slight grittiness this one provides. It reminds me of malt o meal once it's baked into something.

Good product
I've had trouble finding this locally. I use it for my gluten-free sourdough starter, and it really brings the bubbles!

Perfect Power Pancakes
I wanted the protein from buckwheat and the better burn off of the carbs. The Pancake recipe on the bag was perfect - with one exception: molasses. I didn't have it and probably wouldn't get it just for this. I used 2 tbs of brown sugar instead and made sure to cream the liquids together first with the brown sugar. Pancakes were so smooth and not at all grainy. I attribute this to great milling of Bob's Exceptional buckwheat flour!

The buckwheat flour is great, but shipping was not
This is the best buckwheat flour that I have ever used. The price is now out of reason. But the worst issue with this product was the shipment of it. The package got to me in a nasty, greasy box that was wet and reeked of cologne.

Yummy 100% Pancakes
Hey, if you love buckwheat as much as I do, you will use Bob's Red Mills buckwheat flour to make 100% buckwheat pancakes. Just add real maple syrup and you have hit the heights! The flour is always fresh and is conveniently packaged in a four pack. See you later, I think I have a craving for buckwheat, which by the way is gluten free as long as you only use buckwheat in your pancakes. Enjoy!

EXCELLENT BUCKWHEAT FLAVOR
I've ordered buckwheat flour from other sources and they have no flavor at all. Stick with Bob's if you love buckwheat pancakes!
