Wonderful!
These were super easy to install even on a very skinny 3/4" leg. I started with a small drill bit and worked my way up using ultimately four drill bits to get to the 3/8" required. I was careful because the legs are so small. The socket sleeve slipped right in easily and the caster snapped in perfectly. I can't believe I found an antiqued stained caster to go with my little antique table. They are delightful and role very easily. I couldn't be happier. It only took me half an hour to put them all in.

So awesome.
I bought some upholstered dining chairs that I loved, but were too heavy to scoot into the table when sitting. These solved the problem and allowed me to keep my gorgeous chairs. They look expensive, like they came on the chairs, and work great! Smoooth rolling!

Happy With Purchase
We ordered these casters for our "twig" dining room chairs my husband made years ago for our log cabin home. They were designed to use with an antique table that we have since replaced with a new hickory log table. The new hickory table is higher than the antique table was making our old twig chairs just a bit too low for comfort. I looked for a caster that would raise the chair up to the proper height for our needs - not too little - not too much and these fit the bill. I tried a different type caster with wheels instead of balls and found they did not roll over our braid rug very well. So I asked the question on Amazon if these would roll over a braided rug. A big shout-out to all the folks who are kind enough to answer questions like these! Many thanks! The response I got was that these casters would most likely roll pretty well over a braided rug and I'm here to tell you that in fact, they do! So I am a very happy camper! Our chairs now sit and a comfortable height for our new table and they can be rolled in and out with ease.In addition, the antique brass color is compatible with our decor but I would have preferred black. Since the ball wheel is black, this suits me fine. They seems to be sturdy and so far we have had no problems with them. They were also easy enough to install. So all in all, I highly recommend.

Wonderful sturdy little wheels, however..
I drilled a 3/8" hole (which is the manufacturers recommended size) yet the insert would not fit snugly and thus the wheels would not snug up in the insert. To resolve the issue, I placed a a stimudent toothpick (you can use any little piece of wood) in the hole before tapping in the insert. That made the insert fit nice and snug. after that, I was able to the tap the insert in and snug up the wheels easily. (I'm a skilled woodworker and know how to drill a straight hole without wobbling, so that definitely was not the issue). I don't know why the manufacturer recommends a 3/8" hole, but if I had had a drill bit handy that was a little smaller I would have used that, had I known. 23/64" might have been ideal, but I will never know for sure as I drilled them all before I even tried to insert one. So, yeah, that was my mistake-trusting the manufacturer's recommended hole size. Not everyone has a range of drill bit sizes, so I can totally understand how some people will still need to go with the 3/8" hole. All I can say to that is just have a few toothpicks or very slim pieces of wood that you can splinter and put in the hole before tapping in the insert. After that small problem was solved, I found the wheels delightful. They roll in all directions and swivel and seem sturdy enough to bear a considerable amount of weight. They appear to be of good quality and they are attractive. The only reason they did not get that fifth star from me is because of that easily solved engineering problem. Otherwise, (and I still would recommend these wheels), Just do have the smaller drill bit or some tiny shims, that's all.

Sturdy and perfect for the job
We needed wheels put on our coffee table to make it easier to move, when needed. These look nice and glide well on both our rug and hard wood floor.

Will not fit a metal/plasic office 5 leg chair.
Ordered wrong ones, but did not state what they were for. Needed 5, and with much shorter stems for a metal/plastic 5 leg office chair. Also, pretty small ball. If would have fit, not sure how they would roll on carpet.
