Good while, I use it on many more items than my grandfather clock. Excellent for lubricating ignition locks and just about anything where you need a fine needle point applicator for maintaining any mechanical items you have. Not sure if you're supposed to do this but I also add a small amount of graphite into this product and it makes it very well. It's probably one of the best lubricants I have used.

I bought this specifically to oil a German clock that suddenly stopped. All it took was the smallest possible dab on the end of a toothpick. I applied it to the escapement mechanism and the clock is running again and will no doubt be good for nearly two weeks before it again needs winding. In oiling, less is more, if you know what I mean. This is great oil!

Bought it to use mostly on mainsprings, not to waste expensive oil on those. Seems to work. Not sure about using it on the mechanism itself if you care about it.
