A must
You need these as the chair is only 22 lbs. and will prevent tipping backwards. Should have come standard w/chair.

Anti tip kit doesn't fit
I purchased the add on kit and it won't fit the wheelchair. Amazon instructed me to contact Karman as it is non-returnable to Amazon. The contact info Amazon gave doesn't work! I will never purchase anything Amazon won't stand behind. Maybe I should have bought it locally.

A MUST if you are using the LT-980 Ultra Lightweight ...
A MUST if you are using the LT-980 Ultra Lightweight chair. I don't understand how you cannot figure out how to install. You simply slide them into the slots on the wheelchair and they can be reversed upwards if they get in the way without removing them.

I had To trim one side
Good thing I had a band saw handy. The left side went right in. However the right side needed to be cut about 1/4" due to internal block inside the wheelchair frame. I ordered these because it stated an exact fit which wasn't true. Now they are installed I do like the added security as my wheelchair doesn't feel so top heavy. I also feel these as a safety concern should be included with the wheelchair from the manufacturer since this exact wheelchair is so light and a bit top heavy.

Sadly I had to learn about these the hard way
I cannot stress enough how important these are and how upset I am that this necessary safety item was not included with this chair. My mother has been using this light weight chair for a while now as her transport chair. She has one leg and when you have a amputation your center of gravity is off and the chair has a bigger chance of tipping backwards, something we were never warned about. Recently while we were out her chair tipped backwards and her head hit the concrete pavement. She spent 5 days in the hospital due to this fall, she will thankfully be ok but someone else might not be so lucky. The nurses in the hospital didn't know this could happen with a wheelchair. The hospital PT was surprised no other PT advised us to get anti-tippers. I am very upset we were never told about these and they were not included with the chair. If only I knew about these this accident could've been avoided. These anti tippers can save someones life.

Light and compact...awesome
The wheelchair is fantastic. It arrived in great shape. I even bought the tippers and it does work. Only negative is it may not be as suitable for tall sized people. If you are petite (like my mom) than its perfect. It's so light... Downside as well is when I try to tip the wheelchair the handles are oddly faced downward and are somewhat difficult on my wrists.. Haven't taken it out for a spin yet but will update it later.
