Helped Me take a deck on life support from eew to wow
My Dad’s deck was severely neglected. It had slime, and things growing on it. After giving it a thorough power wash and scrubbing with deck cleaner, we decided it could last another 2 years with some TLC. We also didn’t want to rebuild Rome with lumber at the prices it is.In the past we used stain pads, but the boards have wear. The knot holes are a little knottier. The wood grain is a little more dippy and groovy. I was worried that with stain pads I would end up stooping and brushing stain puddles more than anything else. I came to Amazon to see if their was an option other than spraying or stain pads.I found this brush and holy stuff it was a game changer. Somehow the bristles grab the perfect amount of stain. They are soft enough to get stain in all the dips and grooves scuffs and dents, but sturdy enough to have sports car like control. It takes quite a bit of stain to get it properly loaded, but I used it over the course of two days (thanks to a ziplock bag and a refrigerator during down time) and it performed flawlessly. Cleanup was easy, but it took a loooooong time to get the stain out. It somehow managed to get the board edges and enough down the sides that the deck looks like I stained all sides of each board, but I didn’t.I am a hair over 5’8, 5’9 with shoes on…and the handle was comfortable but very short for me. The head has a standard fitting so I would recommend using a handle that is longer for the tall people out there. You will use a bit more stain than with a pad so plan on allowing extra when you are figuring up how much you need.I also feel that for people with new decks or new boards, this would not be much help. I would still opt for stain pads. But for those of us out there hoping to get a season or two more out of a well loved deck, this will always be my go to, and expect it will last a very long time.

Works great! Good quality!
I purchased this deck brush because I was looking for a quality brush and liked that it came with a telescoping handle plus the brush cleaning comb and the can opener in a nice square case so felt it was a good value, even though I felt it was a bit pricey. In the past I had spent a small fortune buying deck staining pads to do my deck each time; however, I didn't like that the pads did not get into the crevice between boards and I had to spend extra time doing the crevice with a brush. Plus the pads didn't have consistent quality (some pads would slip off the applicator which is aggravating while others didn't last for more than a few boards before falling apart). So figured it would be both cost effective and save time by using a reusable deck brush instead.I like that this brush is wide enough (7" wide) to spread stain across the width of the board and gets into the crevice with each sweep of the brush. The handle is a good size for me (I'm 5'2") and makes staining my 40'x15' deck floor quick and easy. The brush & handle are both well made and very sturdy. Definitely good quality products which makes me feel a bit better about the price I paid since I know both will last me for a long time. The brush head is slightly heavy but not in a bad way. The brush is thick so it holds enough stain and spreads it consistently. Also, the bristles hold well, none were lost during the staining process nor during cleaning. However, you do need to use a paint tray as the brush will not fit into the gallon can of stain, so you can't dip it and go like you can with smaller deck brushes.I also used the brush without the handle to stain the deck steps, wide boards that form a skirt around the deck floor & support posts that are below the deck. I found it easier to just grab the brush head without the handle for these areas. Wish it came with a shorter handle that was just a few inches long for doing these type of boards.I'm also happy with the quality and sturdiness of the cleaning comb. I was able to clean the brush quickly with just Dawn soap and warm water and the comb cleaned off just about all the stain on the bristles. The stain cleaned right off. I was using Benjamin Moore's Arborcoat semi-solid stain. So not sure if that made a difference in ease of clean upAs for the case, well it is sturdy but it's made of a stiff cardboard material. With good care it should last awhile just don't get it wet.In the case a business card was included indicating a 1 year warranty plus an email address to contact the company if there are any issues. I also like that it seems they plant a tree with each order placed so I feel better about the $40+ I paid for this product, if it helps the environment just a bitI do recommend this product.

Amazing and easy to use!!!!
This brush was well worth the money. I wasn't sure until I used it to back brush a 32x34 deck around a pool, however I was quickly relieved. I do suggest, you get the extension, get the longer one. I'm 6ft and I had to bend over to get to the boards and I only did 3 at a time. if you clean this brush right you'll be able to use it for years to come. I used oil based stain, and as much of a hassle as it is to clean up using mineral spirits, it cleaned up with the comb it comes with. make sure ya thoroughly clean it though. absolutely will buy again.
