Twenty-Four Aspects of Mother Kali

The Ultimate Form of the Brahman
A Haunting introduction to the Mother of the Universe. This helped me further understand my 'pull' to be in Her lap incredibly. Coming here to find the book for a friend, decided to give my synopsis of this wonderful treasure trove of information from an author that is clearly dedicated to the Divine. Mother Kali is the source of us ALL. It will be, at first, tough to naturally separate Her from any other religion. But there are no differences, remember that God has infinite names, and here we see that even the gender of God is a choice for Her children to decide as well. Here in the USA, we look to God, the Father. In India, She is God, the Mother. There is no difference. There is one God. And God will answer to the call of all children regardless of the title they bestow upon the Godhead. Back to KaliMaa. This will walk thru the image of Kali, adorned with severed heads as a necklace, holding a severed head(my head!, the head of Her devotees, the book will explain all of this) in one hand and granting boons and asking Her children to give Her ALL the fears created by the ego(the true demon we all contain). Babaji Bob walks us thru his enlightened views on the Divine thru Kali and what she represents. This is an excellent read for any devotee exploring their inner call to answer to something deeper, the Soul. Welcome to the Mother of the Universe, the Ultimate form of the Brahman, the Devourer of Time itself. Those that find Her will find comfort that is indescribable. She is the only reality, She is with us all, always. This book was such a gift for me to understand Her more clearly, at first I was nervous to approach such a Goddess. "What do I say? How do I pay my obeisance?" Relax, as you are talking to your Mother. There is a term 'dwijaha' or 'twice-born' that we are born from an earth mother to the earthly plane then secondly as a child of the Goddess, or Divine Mother, who will give her children their second birth, Self Realization. This book will give you more clarity to the Mother and Her ways. Remember, even the Gods come to Her for Everything. She is existence, She is reality itself. Babaji Bob Kindler, thank you for such a thorough and comfortable explanation to the West of our Mother. You have helped me on this path to Her with this book. Thoughtful, insightful and clearly from the heart of an author that has an intimate relationship with his Mother. So, my brother, I thank you for your energy and love. What a book. I cannot seem to keep this book in my library as I give it away at ANY CHANCE I CAN. Kali, Durga, The Virgin Mary, Tara... I see no differences in the Shakti/Maternal energy of the Goddess. What a read.

Excellent book!
I love this book because Babaji Kindler really breaks down the symbolism of the Goddess Kali. I fully intend to buy his other books in the Sword of the Goddess series. To me, Hindu deities have always been mysterious and unfathomable to the western mind because no one took the time to explain why they stood in such particular poses with their hands in particular mudras (positions) holding particular items, etc. One had to read all the classic Indian literature to discover their stories, and many times these books have been poorly translated into English. In Twenty-four Aspects of Mother Kali, Babaji Kindler really helps the reader focus on every single aspect of the Divine Kali from the base of her feet right to the top of her crown and beyond. Each symbol that is included in the traditional images of Kali is defined and described in such detail that I find myself reading a single chapter and then having to put the book aside so I can really absorb he deep meaning of what I have just read. The writing itself is excellent and polished and makes me want to keep reading. The book is geared toward western understanding. It comes with a glossary of Hindu terms in the back in case the reader is unfamiliar with a term that is not fully defined in the text. It is interspersed with appropriate quotations from poets writing about the Mother Kali.Even if one does not wish to worship the Divine Goddess, this book is vastly useful to western students of Indian religious culture. If one does choose to worship the Goddess Kali, then this book will definitely bring you closer to her, allowing you to focus on one aspect at a time and really get to know her full story as the Divine Mother of the Universe.

Inspirational
Twenty-Four Aspects of Mother Kali"Twenty-Four Aspects of Mother Kali" is an outstanding work from someone who seems to have personally "experienced" the Universal Mother. This book contains the essence of many of the ancient texts on Shakti/Kali worship in India. The author reveals the hidden meaning behind the imagery and metaphor of the popular Hindu Goddess while describing many of dimensions of the Mother simply and directly thus exposing us to the core of Mother Kali worship. This book is useful on three levels:1. It provides basic appreciation level information to the casual or curious reader.2. To a beginner devotee it provides meaning behind some of the symbols associated with the Universal Mother.3. To a practicing devotee it provides food for contemplation and inspiration."Twenty-Four Aspects of Mother Kali" is an invaluable resource for those who do not understand Sanskrit or any other Indian language translation of Indian scriptures on the subject.

Maa Kali is the ultimate reality and truth in Shakti sect. Prakriti or Mahamahya is Devi Kaali.. The ferocious yet loving mother... Great book... A big slap to those missionaries and brainwashed people who cannot think beyond God and Satan....

Useful and well-explained.
Whether as a means of learning more about the iconography of Kali from the advaitan perspective, or for devotional and meditational use, this volume is well-explained and useful. The author writes from the perspective of a follower of Ramakrishna (having been initiated into the tradition by a direct disciple of Ramakrisna's wife, Sri Sarada Devi). This perspective may not be everyone's, but the book contains sufficient information to be of value to others too. The paucity of reliable information in English on the subject is a further recommendation. My only, and single, gripe is that the textual descriptions do not always match the images included in the book. This is not a particular problem, but given the nature of the work it would have been helpful and more appropriate to include at least a line-drawing of a figure of Kali which matched the description in the text. Irrespective, this volume is to be recommended to all with an interest in Kali, Shakti or Indian iconography.

Love love love ❤️
I love the depths that this book brings. For anyone wanting to make those deeper connections to the aspects of Kali, then this really is the book for you. I love how the symbolic meaning of each of Kali's aspects is described and explained. It's clear, but with depth and the author knows their stuff
