Story of the World, Vol. 3 Test and Answer Key, Revised Edition: History for the Classical Child: Early Modern Times

Using this with the 3rd book in this series. My son finds it helpful to take notes as I read the history book, then he answers the questions from this workbook orally. Any questions he answers wrong, I have him look up on his own. We like how the book goes through what is happening all around the world, moving through history at the same time. We often refer to our globe as we learn from these books. The quizzes are from chapters a perfect size to digest in a single reading. He learns so much more because of the reinforcement of the workbook, than if we were solely reading a book.

We enjoy using SOTW as our history spine and will be adding the test book for the first time next year. I flipped through it & think it has some interesting questions. Definitely not needed to use the curriculum. If you do the narration and/or review questions from the activity book you may not get any use out of this. I wanted something for my older child’s portfolio for next year & I think this will work well.

The problems: We've found two mistakes in the answer key so far (through Chapter 9), and I think that once or twice the questions have been a little too esoteric based on what's covered in the chapter. Generally speaking, though, the questions are written at a challenging but appropriate level for our 8-year-old (although I can't imagine using the tests for a child any younger). These little problems do not outweigh the usefulness of the tests in general. We've found them helpful enough that I would still recommend them to others as a means of ensuring that a student is comprehending the materials in the Story of the World text.

As a homeschooling mom, I have found this entire set of history books (4 in all) very useful! We love the test books that go along with them. These books have made history very interesting and enjoyable.

The Story of the World: History for the Classical Child, Is easy to use and follow, keeping my daughter engaged in what she is learning. I like that at the end of each lesson she is asked an essay question, only one paragragh usually, but it is working on essential skills and helps retain the stuff.We find ourselves reading other books on the subject Like biographies of the characters. Which in my opinion is a good thing.

Fantastic condition

This test book accompanies the literature of Early Modern Times, and it is another really great book. We use it as an open book test after reading the entire history book to our children. This way our children are reviewing every chapter on their own, and they are able to retain more information from each story.

Bound tests and answer key for the Story of the World V 3 are just as anticipated. Set of chapter tests in multiple choice or matching format, and grading key. Bound and 3 hole punched.

Wonderful storytelling to keep kids interested.
