SauderBarrister Lane L-Desk, Salt Oak finish

Great desk! I initially deducted one star due to one brace piece lacking the pre-drilled holes and several pieces lacking identifying markings but added it back due to the getting the desk 5 days before it was expected to arrive. I had to drill the holes in it myself (actually my brother-in-law did it) which resulted in an hour-long diversion. Actual time spent assembling the desk was 5.5-6 hours- this does not count the 30+ min spent identifying, sorting, and labeling parts that had not been labeled. The directions were pretty easy to follow except for some images don't show the parts to scale so you need to take time in the beginning sorting and identifying your parts. Especially do this for your hardware- it will save you time in the long run. Overall, I am very pleased with the structure and it looks great in my home office!

This review is hard for me. 1-10 10= Perfect-Directions to put it together I give a - 9- the look -8 why 8? The drawers do not line up and have equal gaps.-cost for the product -10-Parts -6. Missing screws and a couple brackets. They were sent out I was told but I had some in my garage that matched what was needed to finish.-sturdy -7 its laminated particle board. U get what you pay for.Over all this looks good in the room/office for now until we have the built in cabinets and desk.Easy to put together and took almost 2 hours.

Overall a great desk for the money it looks great and is actually quite solid. The pencil drawer is a bit flimsy the way they have it mounted but it works. It will take some time to put together though. The instructions are clear and it had all the parts but it was very time consuming as there are a lot of pieces to it. Also the boxes are pretty heavy and cumbersome especially if you need to take it up a few flights of stairs. For the price I am very happy with it.

This desk is not well made at all! Not worth the money. Spend a little bit more money and buy a better quality product. I could have spent half as much money and got a comparable product. The color is nice and accurate but the desk itself is made of particle board. The pieces don't all line up right ... gaps between pieces that should lie flush together.

I ordered this desk for my office. It is very sturdy, and looks and feels great. The assembly instructions were good and easy to follow. However, this was by far the most complicated assembly I've ever done. My office roommate got a desk exactly like this last fall, and it was the same for her. Count on about 10 to 12 hours to assemble, but once you are done, you've really got something.

Desk is not worth the money. I bought this desk after months of researching to get exactly what I wanted. Then I ordered it through Nebraska Furniture Mart and then told me it would be delivered and left at my door. Then I get an email saying no one was home to sign for it (I checked the delivery instructions and it said that they didn't need a signature) so they couldn't leave it. I reached out to them and they said they needed a signature and they wouldn't be out in my area for another like 2 months. And I again wouldn't be available then to sign so basically I was never gonna get it. So I cancelled it and ordered it from Amazon. We chose a delivery date that I would be available (so it didnt sit out in the cold and snow) and it showed up almost 2 weeks earlier even after us calling and telling them we wanted it later. Amazon said it wouldn't arrive before the scheduled date. We then got a notification that it WAS coming sooner. So we called the delivery company and they said they couldn't hold it any longer for me even though I picked a date they had as an option. So it came to my house (no signature required this time). I opened the two boxes and checked everything over. It's not even remotely the same color as shown in the picture which was really upsetting as I was looking forward to the color. Also one of the pieces was split and splintering right down the center (long way). I was so tired of messing with trying to figure this out that I used wood glue to hold the piece together and built the desk. The drawers aren't the same dimensions as stated in the post and they dont sit right. Overall the whole desk is pretty flimsy as it is particle board. I am very disappointed in the money I spent and the way the desk turned out but I needed a desk and didn't have time to deal with it. I wish I could get a refund or at least some money back. It should not be as expensive as it is for as cheaply made as it is.

Sauder makes really good furniture. I've read other reviews and agree the assembly is a little daunting but my husband loves this kind of challenge. Anyone who can read can put this together. All one has to do is follow the instructions step by step. My advice would be to put all the different screws and nails in little bowls and then match them up to the pictures provided to know where they go.
