brilliant device
I bought this after experiencing a miserable incident involving a missing car. It had been parked on the street for vacation and when I got back, it was nowhere to be found. After reporting it stolen and spending a few weeks searching the streets, I finally located the car several blocks away where, I later learned, the city had moved it due to construction. That was a lucky break. But throughout my long search I thought that in this high-tech era, there HAS to be a better way. This is it! I wish I'd already had it back then. It's small enough to secure where criminals won't find it, in case the car is actually stolen, and straightforward to use considering all the features. The geo-fencing option that sends alerts when the tracker leaves a specified area also seems like a great option and one I'll use in the future.

Rarely works as advertised
I got 2 of these trackers for my young children for when we go on vacation. We want them to have a panic button in case we get separated.Initial setup was less than promising. The first tracker registered with the Geozilla app with no issues, but our second tracker wouldn't. We had to contact support and they manually fixed some issue on the backend to allow it to register. My guess is that it was a returned product because the "SOS" function for the 2nd tracker was already registered to a different person with an unrecognized name and phone number (seems like Geozilla needs privacy safeguards to prevent this from happening...). It could also be someone entering my tracker's ID by mistake but the app isn't verifying the correct tracker ID properly. Whatever the case, setup is nowhere as easy, secure, or idiot-proof as adding an AirTag.Once the trackers were up and running, the performance was pretty underwhelming. At the least frequent upate interval (once every 30 minutes), the battery lasted anywhere from 2-5 days, but at the most frequent update interval (every 5 minutes), 1 day is about as far as I was able to get. The GPS accuracy is also nowhere near as good as other GPS devices.. It's accurate to within about 150 yards in the 1st month that I used it. I noticed the same behavior in the suburbs vs more urban settings. Building material / density doesn't seem to affect the accuracy all that much. It's just poor all the time. This is a big difference vs a typical smartphone that is accurate to within a few yards or better. There is also a function to beep the tracker for 30 seconds. The response from the tracker was so slow that it often failed to beep at all, or would only beep for a few seconds after a very long delay. This makes the feature pretty cumbersome for finding lost trackers.I let my included service plans lapse because I didn't need them for a while. Fast forward 3 months, I recharged both trackers for over 24 hours, purchased service plans for both trackers via the app, and nothing works... The trackers just refuse to connect to the cell network and the Geozilla website's troubleshooting steps are unhelpful as usual. This required another support request. As with the first time, it takes a long time (3+ days) to get a response via the app or email. Contacting them via Amazon got me someone faster, but that person just mentioned that they're backlogged and that they already received my request via the other channels. I ended up requesting a refund for the plans and fortunately they did grant that eventually because it took about 10 days into my subscription before they "resolved" the connection issue, by which point I had already gotten alternative means for tracking.Another quirk I noticed is that the trackers can silently fail to update their locations. Pressing the buttons (like SOS) will result in the correct lights blinking but the tracker will still do nothing. When this happens, the user has to reboot the tracker by power cycling it. Good luck having a 5 yr old figure that out in an emergency. Finally, the app is also very clunky and is mostly positioned to try to sell you more stuff. Since the connection to the trackers can be flaky, sometimes it's hard to tell whether the settings I entered in the app for the trackers actually "took". It also uses far more battery on my phone than similar apps like Life360. It's also supposed to send me notifications for when the trackers are low on battery but it's definitely not something that happens consistently, if it happens at all.All in all, I can't recall a single moment when I could just rely on the trackers to do their stated functions with any degree of accuracy or reliability. I have never used a product so frustrating, because on paper it is the ideal product for my kids on vacation. The reality is that the Geozilla tracker can't do a single thing correctly. Save yourself the headaches and don't buy this.

Well priced, but not well tracked
I bought this to know when our son was close to a pick up point we pick him up at the end of day. In theory it works well, relatively easy to set up and tracks area with data, BUT even when I set this tracker to the best battery saving 30 minute interval it didn't last 12 hours before almost depleting battery. And since it's not real time tracking- telling us where he was 30 minutes ago (or at best 5 minutes ago) still doesn't work for our needs. I had read in the description it gave 60 second updates, but apparently that really killed the battery so they took away that functionality. If you just need a general idea where someone is- then this is great. But if you really want to track them, you would need to upgrade the free app and understand the battery limitations.

Well-suited for parents/grandparents with dementia
Good choice, the tracker has been working well since I got it.I bought a tracker for my 82-year-old grandmother. She lives separately and doesn't tolerate any movement restrictions. At the same time, she really likes to go out. I can't be around her all the time. She has dementia, poor eyesight and owns risks of not finding her way home if she goes for a walk closer to the evening.I use the tracker to find her and help her get home. If she needs help, she can use the SOS button to let me hear her signal and make me go get her.The only suggestion I'd provide here is marking the SOS button in contrasting color, best - white. When the tracker is black, the button could be better recognized with poor eyesight and at dusk with the white button in place. The matching color would be great on the plastic case, if possible, because she wears it in the case.Grandma doesn't use a mobile phone, she forgot how to use it because of dementia. So the tracker's is our best salvation.I highly recommend it!

Does not work properly in Canada
I bought it from Amazon then wanted to get 3 year service plan but had to struggle a lot trying to get it through app. I tried contacting vendor and even they tried but were not able to activate it. In the end I ended up returning it.They can certainly make there support better. There is no option to call them and when you try to setup call with them through app during setup issues there is no phone no. or meeting link to call into.I would not recommend it product might be good but getting support is a struggle.

Tiny standalone tracking device with GREAT App
Got this device to keep track on my luggage and notebook bag, without needing a nearby bluetooth phone. The device came well packaged with a range of accessories. The setup process was simple, after downloading the Geozilla app, simply needed to input the code on the back of the device and activation code sent by email. The app works really well, much better then any other tracker I have used, its possible to track the device in realtime, setup geofence alerts and view location history. Ability to create sharing circles and share the location with others is really neat. The battery holds up really well for such a small device, lasted almost a full working week before needing a recharge. Highly recommended...
