Why this book is valuable
I found this book to be very well written. It clearing explains the condition and what should and should not be done for this.Given many doctors do not seem to be very well informed on this condition it makes this book that much more valuable. If you have had chronic pelvic pain and have seen many doctors, had all types of xrays, mris, cat scans and evaluations and have not yet received a valid diagnosis, please look into the possibility of having this often undiagnosed condition.

Informative! Worth reading!
Finally happy to see a book on this subject! The book was extremely informative and was a very big eye opener for me. I also recently had a consultation with Professor Whiteley and was incredibly impressed by his knowledge. I highly suggest the book!

Informative and clear
This is a research based discussion of a poorly understood medical condition. I have recently been diagnosed with PCS in the UK and this book helped me understand how the condition occurs, what diagnostic tests I should ask my current consultant about and what I can expect from the procedure. The only minus is that the research the author and his team have published in peer-reviewed journals is not referenced in the book. This is likely because it is intended for a broader audience, but I think this would be really useful for both patients and medical professionals who would like to have a read of the published research. Thank you for the research you are conducting and for writing such an informative introduction to the condition.

My saviour
Did you know that 30% of women who complain of chronic pelvic pain have Pelvic Congestion Syndrome (PCS)? And 30% of those women end up with psych referrals. No, it's not in our heads! This book has been a saviour for me after receiving a diagnosis of PCS. Professor Mark Whiteley has been researching PCS and other venous syndromes for over 20 years. Not only do I now understand what's happening in my body, but I have an extremely strong understanding of the procedure I will receive. Highly recommend this book for you or even your doctor if you're having trouble getting them to believe you. Not many doctors know about this condition.

Very interesting
Unfortunately, he repeats a lot to get certain information from some other of his books, which is both irrelevant to the reader who bought this book specifically to be told more than 5 times, and in my case I had already bought another of his books on varicose veins which I never received(unlikely his fault directly but I was never reimboursed so though my interest remains, I feel it must be said). The book itself is rather small, but it is as good for the layperson as the medical student and I recommend that every doctor be made aware of the information contained herein. I do hope these books are published in other languages as it is important for such vital information to be spread to reach as many people as possible.Although the research he and his team have carried out is real and can be found on the internet, he mentions it without linking any sources, which does raise alarms to the scientific reader, and though you may be reassured to find out indeed it is not all nonsense, in order to get to that point after reading the book, you are made to do your own research, which is great training to get into, but not what made you buy the book. The size of the book is small and sensing his other books are of similar length, I feel they could all have been put in the same book. However, it is very informative and the most up to date research carried out on pelvic congestion syndrome and therefore, I do recommend this book.
