The Schlage door handset is very nice looking but the feel of it is very flimsy compared to Baldwin. Easy to install and good price so can’t complain. If I did it over again I would go with Baldwin

I also bought the back door lockset version of this--same review over there. I'm impressed with these. I have always liked Schlage stuff in general; it's always appeared well-built and quality to me. We have an old farmhouse and this seemed like a perfect rear entry set (I know pictures can be confusing on here--sometimes they show the inside knob and sometimes they don't--this is the whole set you need for a door with know and deadbolt). The unit was well-packaged and comes with two keys. I'm not terribly handy and was really dreading pulling out the old sets and possibly having to patch wood, shim, etc. I didn't have to do any of that. I credit a decent installation the previous time, but these locks are very forgiving and easy to line up. I oil with WD-40 throughout and they feel great. Several folks have commented on how nice they look. The locks are a little notchy and the key was a little tricky to insert cleanly for a few weeks. As everything worked in and the oil is in there, it's a very smooth key insert and great action. You do need to be very careful about drilling the hole for the bottom part--this is still a very easy install, but that's the one part you don't want to mess up. Measure twice, drill once. I did have to fiddle with the thing for about 10 minutes to get it to go together once I had the outside handle on and was trying to line up the interior knob. I think that was more me than the lockset. Altogether this one took about 45 minutes, including removal of the old one and tweaking. It comes with a nice button to cover up the screw for the lower handle on the inside. It looks very sharp!

Installed on a wood entrance door and the installation was quite easy. Instructions are easy to understand but I had to drill a hole in the door to secure the bottom of the handle. The nut on the bottom of the handle moves up and down about an inch and I used a regular framing square to check to see if my cordless drill was going straight, came out perfect and this was my first time doing this. This handleset and a paint job made my door look new.

We are making some updates to our home as we prepare to potentially sell. We have been in our home over 15 years and the original door handle was looking pretty bad. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, but i wanted something that would look good. I was impressed with the quality and look of this door handle. The handle has a classic design and looks great on our door.

Replaced my main entrance handleset with this. It looks great and is a quality set. As this isold as a replacement kit, they could improve some of the replacement plates and parts to fit better into existing configurations. There was a fair amount of fabrication to make the deadbolt fit without sacrificing security.

Bought entire house worth of knobs good sturdy and easy
