Works as intended.
Good for a permanent setup but for a laptop or such I would get one that plugs directly into the device without the cable.

Reading data quickly, Well worth the money
Great CAC reader that worked on my MacBook the first time. Simple installation of the driver. To which they do have a driver download on their website for those with laptops which may not have a disk drive.First go to the website that is on the instructions included. Download the driver, restart your MacBook. Once booted up again, plug in the reader, insert card, works! If you happen to be the civilian DOD contractor or a military member who is required to use a CAC card reader I would highly recommend this model.It's safe and fast to read data.This is just what I needed. Cheap, compact, and functional. I ordered it because my previous CAC readers were unreliable. I'd have to jiggle the card and insert it a certain way to get it to work, and it I'd lose about 10 minutes of work each day trying to get it to work (sort of like the old school NES game cartridges that you needed to fumble with to get to work). This new item worked on the first try and it reads the card right away. Well worth the money. It's been about a week and no problems!It works very well with my Mac OS system, data transfer is fast, and the cable happens to be the right length. You won't extend the actual cable life due to waste: cost, signal loss, electrical noise and annoying cable tangles. If I find any problems, I will continue to update. So far, I like it very much.

Good for windows
I do not like the fact it’s not compatible with Mac that’s had any recent updates. Seems as tho that could be corrected with some simple software changes on the drivers. In the meantime it runs well with my new windows based laptop and it looks good too.

Awesome product for Military CAC Use
Awesome product for Military CAC use!Product immediately set itself up on my Dell PC Laptop with no extra drivers needed to download.I was delighted to be using it about 2 min out of the box!It also has sturdy, non-slip features. It may be a few extra $dollars than others, but it is worth it.I've had 2 other CAC readers over the years, and this is the best!

AMAZING!
FINALLY! This is so simple. I have a 2020 Mac Book Pro and all you have to do I plug it in and put your CAC in and accept the certificates by putting your password to your computer in and BAM it works on all the military websites 10 out of 10 would recommend!!

Great card reader, you don't have to set it up in any special way, just plug it on and you are all set to go!

Very satisfied
It was kind of complicated to set up the system with my Chromebook, but after doing some research through Google I was able to get it up and running. From there on it was great, we’ll see how long it lasts, but I think it’s definitely worth the price they offer
