The mounts work well at first. They fit snugly in the vent and the magnet sticks well to the supplied metal plate that attaches to the phone. However, when the defroster was on, it caused some heat to dissipate out the standard vents as well. This heat then caused the metal plate to loosen and eventually the phone fell off while driving.I replaced my phone's case with one that had a metal disk built into the rear of the case. This seemed to work, although the magnet didn't stick as well to the metal plate built into the case. The design wasn't as purposeful as the plates that came with the mount. It worked well enough, until it didn't.Eventually the heat worked the rubber grip that is adhered to the mount right off and the tight snug fit of the mount to the vent finally gave up the ghost. This took a mere 3 weeks from start to finish, and that's not driving the same car every day.

I'm giving this product 5 stars because it works exactly as it's described and the customer service is excellent. I contacted seller when I couldn't get my clip apart, and they responded within minutes and assured me it wouldn't break if I used a bit more force. They attach easily to my vents. CAVEAT: Everyone's car is different. This product is not ideal for my 2011 Ford Edge, but that is not the fault of the product. In my car, the vents are directly over the touchscreen display, so my phone partially covers the display. Also, my dashboard sticks out over the vents so I cannot use it on a higher vent slat. I am making it work, but look carefully at the placement in your own car and decide. Once the phone is on the mount, it does partially block the vent, but no way around this feature. I still give it 5 stars because it works as expected and the customer service is superb.

I really want to like this product. I have a car mount for everyday use, but I travel extensively for work and use rental cars and wanted to have a very portable way to easily mount my phone in these rental cars. This product seemed like the perfect solution, however the magnet just isn't strong enough. I have a Google Pixel 2XL with an Otterbox Defender case, I have two (double thickness) magnets attached to the back of the case under the rubber. This works fine for my other car mount (and a suction cup unit I also have), but not for this.

This is the greatest car mount I have used. The best part is that it comes with two in a pack so it is a fantastic deal. I gave the other one to my husband. It clips right to the vent. It comes with magnets to put on the back of the phones and it holds them in place just fine. We have Samsung Glaxeys and they work great with this product. It is also great to travel with since it just easily unclips and you can put it in a new car. We travel often and we love being able to use the car mounts while driving and navigating places.

I've probably tried at least a dozen different cellphone holders for my car, and none of them were what I wanted. I finally came across these and they're great. They're much easier to install and uninstall with the pressure lever. They hook very easily into the air vents, and you can position it so that it doesn't completely cover the vent when the phone is mounted. Very happy with this purchase.

I bought these for my work vehicles since All phones have to be hands free and I use my phone for navigaiting. They are super strong and have a great grip on the vent with the clip. I love that they are slightly angled and so large to help support the phone. It's awesome that they don't have to be mounted by adhesive since my work vehicles are a lease. I have shared the magnetic plates with coworkers so we can all use the mounts and everyone is in love with them.

I was really excited to get a magnetic phone holder because I was tired of my old “manual” one. Unfortunately the magnet is too strong for the adhesive on it. I stuck it on my phone and let it adhere for over an hour. The magnet stuck to the holder well, but when I took my phone off the holder, the magnet came off and stuck to the holder. It wouldn’t re-adhere to the phone. The magnet isn’t strong enough to go through a phone case either. Disappointing.

I do believe this product will convert me back into the world of vent clips, solidly built and the magnets seem quite strong. didn't pay attention to the fact the set came in a chromed and a black...would have preferred two chrome...but none the less a quality product! which begs the question, in a two pack, why two different colors?
