Nice features
I was super excited about this carrier when I was first told about it by a friend. One of my cats always pees on the way to the veterinarian so I was drawn to the feature that allows the urine to drain to the sides. It 100% meet the need there. I was hoping the floor might be more slip resistant. Overall it’s not bad. My other carriers have a cut up bath mat in the bottom to prevent slipping. My main complaint is it doesn’t close easily on the top. I have to fumble with it to get it aligned correctly so it can lock. Kind of a pain when there’s a cat in there that wants out! I do like the air flow and the clear door.

SOO HEAVY
The thing is great I just wish it had wheels. The front latch on both of mine did break though which is annoying …also the water bowl will spill everywhere I cut a hole in and bought a huge choco nose no drip water bottle for dogs

DESIGN FLAW ON TOP LIDS
This is the coolest looking carrier I’ve ever seen. Love the clear front door on it and all the ventilation. The food trays on the inside of the front door are a great idea, but I wouldn’t dare put any water in them. The food trays do not take up much room on the inside of the carrier at all. The inside of it is roomier than other carriers I have purchased. I haven’t hauled one of our cats in it yet, so can’t remark on that. The reason for my low star rating on this is because the two lids on the top do not close entirely and they were a bitch to line up and get reattached. As you can see in my photos, the top doesn’t line up completely. I think Catit’s design team needs to rethink the top lids. Personally, I will not use them unless it’s necessary because it takes so long to get them lined up, my cats would make the Great Escape.

Ease of use
It was really easy to get out cat into the carrier, however I wish the product just felt a little sturdier or fit together a little better than it does, it’s difficult to close but that’s nothing compared to wrestling my cat into a carrier! Overall a great product!

more complicated legos
I think I like the idea better than the actual product. Great to clean but hard to open and close from the top opening, front door works well though.

The best carrier we have ever tried
I have gone through so many carriers with my cats and this one is by far the best. I’m not sure if the materials used to manufacture these have changed since the previous reviews, but to me it is a lot sturdier than typical carriers we have tried from the pet store. I had always been a little scared to use the handle on our old carrier while my cat was inside - I feared that the handle would somehow pop off of the carrier - but this one’s handle is a part of the whole carrier so no risk of it breaking and crashing to the ground. It’s also a lot lighter than any I have tried before. My cats usually go to the vet at the same time, my 13lb cat uses this carrier and my 9lb cat still uses a common plastic carrier with wire door; even with his added weight it is lighter and easier to carry. The door on this is super wide and it has made getting him in a lot easier. It completely opens up from the top, my cat’s doctor is able to just unsnap and open it to do exams without needing to take my cat out of it. I have never tried to put him into the carrier from the top, but lining up the handle and snaps to put it back together can be tricky at first, so if your cat is a runner you might want to just stick to the front door when loading them up

Flimsy and finicky, cool in theory
Once together, the unit itself seems to be sturdy enough; however, the operation of the doors - both top and main - are finicky to match and then lock closed. Since everything is just a little bendy, sometimes I have to hold the unit and door just so to get it to actually latch shut. The feeder door in front of the bowls doesn’t latch particularly strongly. A spicy cat could probably punch their way through if the bowls were not in place. If you plan on transporting small cats or kittens, they can likely fit through the bowl openings as well. The entire unit is imbalanced toward the door. The weight and sturdiness of the door itself is substantial, add the bowls and extras and the whole unit kinda leans forward when you pick it up.The door itself just sort of slides on to the hinges. Once latched, it isn’t going anywhere; but open you can pull the entire door off. For us this was a plus, but it was unexpected at the time.Lastly, the edges aren’t smooth. Some of the exposed edging can be really rough on your fingers. Particularly around the top closure.Overall, though, I’d say this is an OK crate, albeit way more expensive than it’s cheaper options. The added “benefits” are cool, but they definitely cut corners other places to keep it affordable. I’d rather spend an extra $30+ for higher quality.Bottom line: If I could return mine, I would.

INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS ALMOST KILLED MY CAT
Bought this carrier for an 8 hour ferry ride and figured I should test it on a shorter drive first. Halfway through the drive my cat started making really weird noises so I pulled over to check on him only to find that the front flap for the food bowl wouldn’t stay shut and my cat had been able to squeeze his head out of the food bowl opening. When I got to him he was so stuck he couldn’t breath and was out cold. I managed to rip the door off and maneuver it so that he could breath again but could not get his head out because of the way the crate door is designed. I was an hour away from home and had to figure out how to keep him propped up in a way that didn’t cut off his air supply while still focusing on driving. When I finally got him home I ended up having to cut him out of the carrier. Thank god I decided to test it first because I would not have been able to check on him during the ferry and he would not have made the trip like this. I am incredibly incredibly disappointed and would NOT recommend this carrier. The quality is very cheap and almost cost my cat’s life.

Not fit for purpose 😕 Returned.
It should have a no star rating option.Unbelievable! This cat carrier is awful and completely unsafe. I have actioned a return and refund based on the below points:* I had this same make carrier 9 years ago, which was excellent, and I thought I couldn't go work buying it again* The carrier is not easy to assemble... or further continue to use. The toploader flaps DO NOT fit together easily until they are perfectly aligned, by which time the cat has scrambled out or got claws/paws in the way, which completely negates the point of an easy access at the top* The door also does not close properly unless perfectly aligned and forced shut. Again, by which point, the cat has got its tail, head, paws in the way.* The food tray door DOESN'T seal properly and kitties can fit their heads through it and GET STUCK. I've never been so terrified about how I'm going to help my cat escape, in the middle of the car, miles away from home!!Completely stressful experience. I tried two separate occasions (the head incident happened the 2nd time) and I'm absolutely disgusted as to how this has passed any kind of testing.

Not good if you travel by public transport
I bought this carrier as it was recommended by the vet: my cat is very stressed by vet visits and the opening allows the vet to check the cat without having to take her out. However, I live quite far from the vet and have to take public transport (tube and bus). The carrier is heavy and the shoulder handle not very confortable. It is not easy to manipulate the carrier and fit in a tube seat! But the biggest problem is the door. A couple of times, i opened the door to check on my cat and give her reassuring strokes, only to realise the door had dislodged itself and i had to put it back in place before i could close it properly again. Quite stressful i must say. I think this item might be good if you carry it from your home to your car and from your car to your vet. But i wouldn't recommend it for public transport.

Easy to open from the inside
The media could not be loaded. If you love your cat, please, don't buy this transporter. But if you hate this ungrateful, lazy and grumpy creature - it may be a perfect choice for you!Since you're buying a transporter, then probably you want to transport your animal safely from one place to another. With this transporter this mission may be difficult to accomplish, as there are some chances that the animal will run away from the transporter (because it's possible to open its doors from the inside). Also there are some dangerous elements that may hurt your animal, so even when the cat won't run away - it may be a slightly different cat afterwards. If your pet is big and calm and you're sure that it will just patently wait - then maybe it won't be that problematic for you. But if your animal is small and/or likely to panic/scratch things around/run away - then I would search for something more solid. Honestly, there are 15-20£ transporters that are way more solid than this one.

Refreshment tray disappointing
The Catit Cabrio Cat Carrier was purchased after I read a review that compared several cat carriers, cat baskets etc. and came out on top for sturdiness and the best for anxious cats.I cannot fault the overall design and the fact that you can either place your cat in from the top or through the door. However, the catch on the door is not good for shutting quickly and burrs were left on the plastic to the point that my daughter cut herself on it. I hasten to add that she is an adult, so wasn’t playing with it. Having said that, it would be inappropriate for a child to be able to help with putting their cat inside, due to this problem. The carrier I received had a faulty refreshment tray door, which wouldn’t remain closed (the instructions implicitly stated this was to be the case at all times). The catch didn’t appear broken but looked like a design fault.I tried to speak to someone in Customer Services (Catit) but they refused to listen to me and told me to get a refund/ replacement from Amazon (which wasn’t my point about contacting them). Amazon Customer Services were brilliant but due to the lack of interest and support from Catit, I decided on a complete refund rather than replacement.I would not recommend this product but I may be the only one who has had this experience from Catit and their cat carrier.
