Tarot Art Nouveau (English and Spanish Edition)

A person's choice of Tarot decks is a purely personal choice, of course. But as far as technical specifics of this deck go, it is fantastic. Straight out of the package the cards are not too slick, and the size is fantastic for someone with medium to small sized hands. Many decks are large, either too tall for most peoples' hands or oversized in general. Unfortunately the book is not very helpful with the cards' meanings, but any basic tarot book can give you those. All in all a wonderful deck for those who have a passion for Tarot.I would recommend this deck for anyone who is looking for a brightly colored deck with a slightly unusual theme and classic look.

The 'Tarot Art Nouveau' , Tarot cards by Antonella Castelli, and Lo Scarabeo are absolutely magnificent! The artwork is lush and beautiful, and very reminiscent of the works of Alphonse Mucha. So if you're a fan of his, or Art Nouveau in general, you'll love this deck. I haven't used it yet for readings as I just received it and am still familiarizing myself with the deck, however: This deck is worth owning for the beautiful artwork alone!

I chose this deck because I thought the art was beautiful. And when I opened the box, they were even more breathtaking than I thought they would be. The colors are so bright and pretty.I have to admit, I was scared that when I bought a used deck that the cards would be messed up, but the only thing messed up was the box, which I don't need anyway. Overall an AMAZING deck. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I bought this deck because I am a fan of Alphonse Mucha work so I was hoping these tarots would be close to his style. Truth be told the decorative styling is pretty lackluster. Nearly all the women are cut copies with less than lavish designs or outfits (a lot of draped cloth and expect a lot of topless women here). What little cards feature men have them looking sullen, even in pain to be there. Why? I think because they were begrudgingly put there, Mucha mainly did women after all which is a shame because there is always opportunity to reinvent and adapt.There are good cards though like the Queen of Chalices and Justice, but too many of the pics simple don't emphasis their reading. Case in point: every pentacles card is just a women sitting there making not much of a statement. Similar for the wands and chalices. Yes it is colourful, yes the quality of card stock is there thankfully and I'm sure some fans will love Castelli's design, but for me I really wanted this deck to be just that little bit better so you could confidently say this does Art Nouveau justice. There's just too many aesthetic errors which interfere with the readings. I really hope this deck gets a revisit or an alternate eventually comes along.Like the title says; it's not a bad deck, it's just not a very good one either.

I found this deck in a crystal shop in CA - I love this deck so much that when I lost it I bought it again here. The illustrations are BEAUTIFUL - very sensual and sexy. Love this artist and the lilac coloring <3

The pictures are beautiful but the symbols are not quite clear. Please be aware that this is not a deck for beginners and there are no reversed meaning either, unless you are an advance Tarot reader who has memorized Rider-Waite meanings by heart. I have been a reader for a long while and still struggles to understand the meanings of the cards, however the illustration is quite pleasing to the eyes so I am willing to learn to read it.LWB does not help much. Packing is a bit flimsy and I do not appreciate the insertion of advertisement cards other than the fact that I can use them as bookmarks.

The illustrations of this deck are so beautiful, with art deco references of twirling vines and plantlike adornment. I found that the illustrations match very well to the card it is assigned, and although the book it comes with is not helpful, I never advise anyone to use those, as they are just guidelines. Invest in a good overall tarot book that you can refer to and learn from.

I love art nouveau, mostly, and this deck is no exception; in fact i got it because one of the cards remind me of a bit of a scene from a fanfiction about Doctor Who I'm writing called The Return Heptalogy.Alchemy meets art nouveau? perfect.everything was fine, the packing, the shipping, all of it.;)
