My son collects NFL plushes and I bought a box of them for a price that was simultaneously too good to be true and too good to pass up. Alas, when the box arrived on my doorstep, it reeked of smoke before I even opened it. This wasn't like they were in the delivery truck with a smoking driver. This was like they'd spent years in a house with a chain smoker. The plushes are old and washing them was out of the question. Enter Fresh Wave. It has kind of a menthol smell and the sprayer made a very nice, fine mist which didn't damage the plushes but coated them well and got into the "crevices". We sprayed the plushes until they were damp and let them dry outside, repeating the process a few times. The plushes still smell like smoke if you bury your nose in them and sniff but they're no longer reeking of it. My son's dad is extremely picky about odors but was not aware that there ever was a smoke smell when our son took the plushes to his house after a week of "treating" them daily. That right there was proof that this stuff works! I wish I'd had this when I inherited my parents' house and couldn't get the smoke odor out.

I had a smoker living with me for awhile and she did smoke outside, however I am very allergic to the odor & so she would spray outside after smoking and she had no lingering odor on her. I also have relatives who smoke & are in & out of my home because they live nearby. I am so sensitive to the odor that after the leave, I spray the couch or rug wherever they were or in rooms where they were and my air istruly free of the odor & clean once more. I also have to be wary of spraying too much in the air because there is a fragrance that can be too much for me. Used in moderation, I have no problems. I will buy it again!

I did a test in an area where people had been smoking. Nice, pepperminty smell, very strong. I couldn't tell whether it was eliminating the odor or just covering it up with this strong peppermint; I went back to the room a few days later -- no smell!

We lived for 8 months in an apartment listed as ‘non-smoking’. If only we knew before moving in that the residents below were heavy smokers and the place was regularly permeated with the smell of smoke, we would NEVER have lived there. If we had any other option we would’ve moved out immediately, but we didn’t. It was by far the worst place I’ve ever lived in my over 50 yrs of life. Period. Moving April 2022 into a new home was so great and such a relief, except the move was complicated by things labeled as ‘Storage Unit’ & ‘Smokehouse’ meaning where they’d been for the past 8 months. I saw this product and knew our situation warranted it’s purchase. It has helped, but not as much as I’d hoped. The smell of the product isn’t bad, though it’s not a smell I’d purposely use to fragrance a living space either. Compared to the smoke smell, however, it’s significantly better! It’s been 6 weeks since we moved in, but a few items aren’t moved into the house yet - our couch and love seat. Like I said the spray has helped, but not eliminated the smoke smell. I threw away my mattress because of its age and the smoke combined, but my roommate’s mattress was less than 2 yrs old. They slept on the couch (a different couch from storage) for 3 weeks, but couldn’t take it anymore, so we moved in the mattress. The smoke smell is more obvious in the smaller room and we leave the window open and run the fan regularly, as well as use the spray. It’s helping, but not eliminating. Some smaller cheaper items we’ve just thrown away as well. Conclusion - if you have a mild smoke smell issue, this product will probably work well. If it’s a serious smoke smell issue, look elsewhere. Though I’m beginning to believe that time is the only thing that will really eliminate the smell. Bonus tip - if you’re apartment hunting and the empty and clean unit you look at even has a hint of smoke smell, find out why and look at the neighboring units behaviors BEFORE moving in. It will save you a ton of hassle, stress, irritation, time and money in the long run. Trust me. It will.

I was skeptical at first but I was pleasantly surprised that this product actually works. It has a pleasant scent and does not mask the odor. It actually dissolves the odor. I'm very pleased with this purchase regarding value to cost. I highly recommend you try this!!

I love fresh wave you can spray it on fabrics and just spray it in the room it smells good but isn’t a cover up like flowers. Your house just smells good. No lingering smells.
