Pleased with it
Great futon, seems a little flimsy but for the price I don’t think there is much better out there. Also easy to assemble.

Do Not Buy This! Flimsy, Poorly Made, Uncomforable, Horrible Customer Service. Wasted Money.
I bought this a few months ago to use in our basement for sleepovers. Due to Covid, we have not had a need to use it, so it sat in the box. I got bored and thought I would put it together recently. Nearly none of the holes line up. The screws are machined weird making it hard for them to thread properly. Finally got it together and the ratcheting part to recline one side does not work, so one side doesn't even stay up. It looks nice, but there is no way two adults can sit on this thing at once. It simply isn't that sturdy. It looks nice, but it is horribly uncomfortable. It sits very low to the ground and there is very little padding. This really is nothing more than kids furniture, and I mean like preschoolers. I tried contacting the seller and they pretty much told me to pound salt. They didn't even offer a replacement for the reclining hinge that doesn't work. $250 and I have to lean it against a wall to sit the back up. Out $250, because this is probably going to end up on the curb for free.

Year later
Now, I initially tried canceling the same day I ordered this after freaking myself out reading the reviews. It still shipped the next day. I couldn't help but just accept defeat and keep it when it arrived. This sofa is actually pretty decent considering the price. But with that being said- it's a 300$ sofa.Napping on it, people crashing at our place for a few nights on it, general lounging- it gets the job done. If you're someone who needs a lot of comfort in a sofa, don't get this. It's moderately comfortable.Comfort, durability, and size work for my partner and I in a small apartment on a budget. We've had to re-screw the bolts on the bottom once (legs became loose after a while), but other than that the futon portion goes down and locks back up with no issues.Moral of the story: this is worth 300$ if you're not all that picky and just need SOMETHING. It's exactly what you'd expect with a sofa at this price. I'm still relatively pleased with it.

Decent couch / perfect for office
I was looking for a cheap yet stylish couch for my new office a la Mad Men. This fit the bill. It was very easy to assemble and looks great in my office. It does sit a little low to the ground (which I knew from reading previous reviews). It isn't the most comfortable couch you'll ever sit on, but again for what I'm using it for it's perfect. I did read that the legs aren't very stable? I'm not seeing that. They seem fine to me. I've had it for a few months now and no complaints at all. No noticeable issues. If you're looking for a cheap yet stylish looking couch to complement a room/office this is perfect. If you are looking for a couch you're going to sit on all day, probably best to look for something with a little more cushion.

it's OK
size is good but as a bigger guy there's definitely not enough cushion I kind of sink in

Broke after less than a year
While the hinges in the middle were already not correctly placed upon arrival, it was fairly easy to assemble after fixing that issue. After about a month, the futon was uncomfortable to lay on, especially when it is laid out flat. The middle is hard as a rock and terrible for your back. A few months ago, I noticed that one of the legs would cave in whenever I would move the futon despite me using those foam furniture moving pads. A couple of days ago, this happened again and I decided I would try to fix this issue only to find that the wooden frame within this futon had broken. This is a huge hazard and someone could have gotten hurt if sat in the wrong spot. I have no choice but to throw this futon away after only having it for about 9 months. I do not recommend buying this product. Not worth the money.

authentic review! did lots of couch research.
Here’s a pretty detailed review because I feel this is necessary. I looked for a couch/futon for MONTHS that was inexpensive and modern-looking. I had my doubts about almost every listing I saw on every platform I searched on. The reviews were always 50/50 and I stressed about sealing the deal on every couch. I finally pulled the trigger on this one and I do not regret it AT ALL.It’s an inexpensive couch, I did not expect it to be the most comfortable thing ever. But I can’t even complain about the comfort - it is comfy to sit on and I’ve taken many naps on it so far.I was not necessarily looking for a futon, but found that most inexpensive couches were mostly futons or sleepers. I have a twin size mattress topper that fits on it perfectly should someone need to sleep on it (it is not comfortable enough for a guest to sleep on - pretty stiff on your back). It functions as a recliner as well, with multiple settings the lean back and can do different angles on the left and right side.Assembly - took less than 5 minutes. You just screw legs in (there are 6 total).Package - was certainly heavy (as expected). I opened it on my front porch and removed the couch itself instead of attempting to lift the box.PSA - the legs and screws are located inside the couch in a pocket on the backside. It clearly states this but took me a moment to discover.Moral of the story, don’t overthink this purchase. I think it was well worth it.

CAT OWNERS BE WARNED
I ordered this futon to replace my bed that got destroyed in a hurricane. The shipping was super quick (delivered two days after I ordered it) and was easy to set up. It is a bit firm to sleep and sit on, but is otherwise very comfortable. I was worried the velcro pockets under the seats would be an enticing hiding place for some of the cats in my home, but I found that there is a split in the fabric on the seat backs where they connect at the ratchet hinges. As a result, a cat was able to slip into the underside of the seat while the futon was in couch mode. I still like and recommend this futon despite this, but for any cat owners, be ready to fish your inquisitive cats out of it often.
