Clearaudio - Smart Stylus - Tracking Force Gauge
B**K
Required for Verify and Clarity Tonearms
You must use this stylus gauge when adjusting the weight on your magnetic tonearm from Clearaudio.Recently purchased a second hand Concept table that was missing this gauge. After several hours of frustration trying to get the table to properly track a quick search online led me to this product. The tonearm must be completely level to be properly set. If it is even slightly off you will have a wildly different tracking force than what you think is correct. After attempting to use my Shure tracking gauge I gave up and order the right tool. Took less than a minute and it was set up properly.Docking a star just because of the expense for what is a tiny piece of metal. But if you have one of these tonearms this is just a drop in the bucket I guess.

A Must for the Clearaudio Verify Tonearm
Essential if you have a magnetic-bearing tonearm like the Verify found on most Concept and other Clearaudio turntables. Those arms are very sensitive to height. Measure a few millimeters too high off the platter and you get a false and very high reading. You need to replicate the thickness of a record to be accurate. Always use the gauge directly on the platter. I wore off the lines on the unit that came with the table, so I thought better safe than sorry as I am an inveterate tweaker.

Perfect. You need to be careful using it
Perfect. You need to be careful using it. Precision instrument calls for being precise.Fractional weights maybe difficult. So far I have used it to set a 2 gram tracking force.

Simple and it works
There's not much too it, but since it's so simple it won't mislead you. Levers have been predictable for millenia. The balancing points are small so don't use it on a surface where it will sink in, such as a padded turntable platter. Use it a thin piece of cardboard like from a greeting card in that case.
