The best gelatin, easy to stir
I don't know much about gelatin but use it a lot and this one stirs in an instant. I boil the hot water, and only use a half a cup and about 4 tablespoons of gelatin. Then I put in pomegranate juice and fill up the glassfor a strong flavored drink.I was using raspberry flavored diet mix and it tasted really super good, just like black cherry jello. Alas they are so down on aspartame, I switched. I'd love to find flavor like that and mix it up with stevia for a sweetener. You can also mix it with orange pulp from the freezed cans for some flavor and with this you can actually toleratemixing it with chlorella or spirulina.I like to make dried apricot pie and other pies like apple and gelatin helps it stick together.I sure wish I knew how to prove there is protein in it. It really seems to work and makes expensive proteindrinks seem pretty stupid. Especially for old people without teeth. Ensure keeps a lot of the old or anorexic'salive but it costs a lot. So I don't know who lives on gelatin instead. I'd love to know. You do have to drink it before it gels and that's not hard. If you do leave it sit you would have to chew pretty hard to get it down. Once I cut it up into candy sized squares. If jello didn't get a bad review for health because it has some chemical in it...I would do this more often, but black cherry jello mixed with a few tablespoons of this is a very tasty hot drink.Cheers to your health. Email me if you know anything real important about this, [email protected]'m going to try the5 lb. Now Food Gelatin, although you have to stir a LOT longer....it tastes the same. What is really in gelatin? I can't find anything online, no books, no factory tour. Is it ground toenailsfrom cows? It's so gross what it's said to be secretly made up of, but it works like settles down my appetite so I don't overeat. It's missing something live so I have to eat a lot of fresh stuff too.Soup...that's nice but it's a hot drink I seek and this is a sweet hot drink sometimes, so I don't need the soup. Just gelatin, fruit and vegetables....I might recommend also a pineapple smoothie. Pineapple in the juicer and some tablespoons of hot gelatinmixed in a half cup of boiling water and maybe some icecream. It's even known that fresh pineapple stops gelatin from getting hard so you can keep it cold and drink it whenever. :)

Great way to add collagen to your diet
This is actually the first product I've tried for bulk unflavored gelatin, and have been very happy with it. Not only is it from grass-fed cows, but per serving has 2x the amount of protein compared to the Great Lakes brand of gelatin, and is ultimately why I decided to purchase this instead of the other. In my opinion, it's an overall better value because of this considering you can get twice the protein punch in half the amount of product, at a cheaper cost, (and I do realize this is also 2oz less than the GL brand). I have a chaotic work schedule and on some mornings have to be awake and on the road by 4:30am, and do not have the appetite to physically eat any breakfast that early in the morning, but do need something easy on the stomach, so I mix a tablespoon of this with some full-fat canned coconut milk in my coffee and take with me. This concoction actually does a pretty good job at keeping me satiated and the stomach happy until I am actually hungry enough to eat something. I've also made gelatin/gummy snacks with various recipes around the web and have had good results. Some recipes state you need to sprinkle the granules over the liquid and let sit to let it "bloom", but I find this not necessary at all. I guess the only downfall to this product and most gelatin products, (but does not warrant a deduction from the star rating) is that it only dissolves in warm/hot liquid; therefore have not tried this in smooties, etc. yet. I will definitely be reordering this when I run out!

Gelatin is Gelatin...Or is it??
Okay, so I am on a trial basis with several gelatin products at this time and several gelling agents that are NOT gelatins as well. My baseline product is Knox gelatin with which I am most familiar because I have been using it for years as it comes from the grocery. So far everything I have tried is MUCH better than Knox!!I decided to try this product for two reasons. First, because it is a powdered product much the same as Knox and would therefore be easy to compare. Second, because it is a bovine (beef assumedly..??) product that is differentiated from other gelatins that are pork based. I have also tried sheet gelatins (pork..) which were excellent in all respects and some gel capsules which were of no consequence at all.My main usage for gelatin is nutritional in nature as a protein enhancement to diet and as a gelling agent for aspics and a thickener for other mostly liquid preparations. Knox gelatin always worked....but I wanted something that was cleaner and clearer, smelled better and was easy to use. This product comes nicely packaged and because it is in a bulk container can be easily measured in varying quantities...something not easily done with Knox. When mixed according to directions, it forms a warm liquid that is clearer than Knox and has less odor. I am not certain about its gelling strength, mostly because I haven't directly compared it to Knox on that basis. I would need to weigh out the amounts used to properly determine that and then measure it by volume as well to eliminate possible inconsistencies with formulation and settling in packaging. I haven't taken the time to do that yet, although I probably will.So far I haven't found anything to dislike about this product. It meets all of my original criteria which I admit are largely subjective in nature, in that relative clearness, and odor are in the eyes of the user.....but I CAN see, smell, and taste the difference. Everything that makes me happy!I will admit here that the sheet gelatins have become my favorites for a lot of different preparations. They are so clean and so easy to use. However, for those applications where you would use a powdered gelatin, small amounts, quick thickening or easy protein supplementation in a single serving size possibly.....this product will more than meet your needs. Easily measured and used and packaged to maintain freshness, this product is SO much better than similar grocery items....Try it...I think you'll like it!!
