Very well made costume, inconsistent sizing on different pieces
First and foremost, I'd like to say that I received this REALLY fast, despite there being massive delays with shipping from China, kudos to their shipping team.Demon Slayer Tengen costumes are few and far between, and there are little to no reviews for them out there, so I'll go in detail as much as I can in this review for others wanting to cosplay as Tengen, since the Entertainment District arc comes out in a few months, and more people will want to do so.Size ordered: XXL (My height is 6'5")General:- Very nice material, feels like it will be breathable.- Little to no loose strings on the stitching, meaning it was well made.- Runs big overall. That being said, I think they designed this with Tengen's actual body in mind, meaning if you have a lot of muscle, you'll fill it in just fine (I'm very tall and a little on the thin side with broad shoulders). I was between sizes (XXL and XXXL for my height), so I went down because of past experiences from other stores. I'll go into detail below about what's too small, too big, and just right.Top:- The inside has this silk material attached and is VERY comfortable. For those familiar with the 501st Legion's Imperial Officer uniforms, it's the same thing on the inside that CosplaySky used for theirs.- I'm able to move my arms freely about, and don't have to worry about stretching anything. While I don't have the muscle size that Tengen does, I'm working on building some to be more accurate, and the sleeveless top will still allow ample freedom to move my arms. In other words, the arm holes are HUGE. Maybe could downsize them a little bit.- Accurate amount of buttons. I saw many other costumes have only 3 buttons, which isn't accurate, and this one has 4, which is accurate. The button holes are all large enough to fit the buttons, and small enough that they'll stay put, something almost no other costumes that I owned have.- Speaking of buttons, they have a design of what looks to be the US Presidential Seal, which I found very odd.- The length might be a tad too short. Though Tengen tucks in his top, it might slide out if the belt isn't tight enough.- Plenty of neck space.- The kanji on the back was well printed, feels like a number on a jersey. Might be prone to creases though.Bottom:- Elastic waistband, however the waist itself is a good inch to inch and a half too big. That being said, it's better that I didn't go down a size to XL because the top would have definitely been too short.- Very comfortable thin part around the shin/ankle area. A slight tight fit to get your foot in, but it stays tight enough to not slide around.- Good amount of bagginess that is accurate to the character, and is just very comfortable.- There are actually pockets, that are pretty standard size. Should be able to hold your keys safely at a convention, though the material is slick and might cause your wallet or phone to slip out.- A HUGE problem I have, and probably the biggest problem overall with the costume, is that there are only 2 belt loops. The belt rises in the back quite a bit when crouching, and I'll definitely need to add a loop in the back, as only 1 is on the left and right side.Armbands- Absurdly big, more proof that the costume was very closely modeled after Tengen's body type. The upper armband especially. You practically have to be Arnold Schwarzenegger to be able to fit the upper armband. The lower arm/wristband is better sized, but still too big. You don't need too big for forearms to wear them, but you need some meat on your forearms.- Soft material that should be comfortable to wear, inside feels like cotton.- Simple velcro attachmentsWrists:- The stock photo makes them look like they're black, but they're actually a dark purple. Not as accurate as a brighter purple, but they're good enough that I won't change them.- Strap for the middle finger is just a bit too small, ever so slightly uncomfortable. People with beefier fingers might not like it.- Thin material, might be prone to ripping. Material is like a low end Halloween cape.Headband:- Pretty accurate all the way around.- Nice leather material, and the strap fits snugly on the head without being uncomfortable.- The great thing about this one is that the rhinestone on the strands actually move, and aren't a solid piece like most the others I've seen, allowing it to flow.Belt:- Same material as the headband, but thicker.- Nicely made holes in the belt, and the metal part is nice too.- Waaaaay too long. Even the smallest configuration of the belt is so big that I'd have to be around 300 pounds to wear. For sure have to add more holes to make it fit.Legs:- Honestly I thought it was going to be something you pull over your legs, but they're actually very long straps, and look way better that way.- If wound around your leg right, it fits snugly and doesn't appear to be able to come loose.- Accurate burgundy color.- Same material as top and bottom.Tabi socks:- Average feeling (touch)- They're white, even though Tengen wears black ones.- I actually can't wear Tabi socks since my 2nd toe is longer than my first, so I can't comment on how they feel on my feet. Conclusion:This company did a very well job with the materials and craftsmanship of the costume. They also had good attention to detail, and the costume is overall very accurate to Tengen. That said, there are numerous instances where sizing can improve. Many instances have something being too small, while another part might be too big or fit just right on the same piece of costume. You'll definitely have to add another belt loop to the bottoms, and punch in another hole on the belt, or it won't fit. Armbands are absolutely too big unless you're a strongman. You'll definitely have to find different armbands elsewhere, as they'll fit almost no one.TL;DR Overall I'm very pleased with the costume, but will have to make a few changes to make the costume fit better, as well as getting much smaller armbands. I recommend putting on quite a bit of muscle, as this is designed for someone with it.Rating: 8.5/10
