AYP 532413160 Skirt

I have a Sears Craftsman lawn mower model number 917.376531 on which the rear skirt came off a week or two ago - it just wore out and broke off the lawn mower. The Sears web-site lists the part as no longer available (c'mon Sears - what happened to having repair parts forever???), and I couldn't find it anywhere. However, this part looked close, and Amazon had it cheap, so I went for it. I was able to make it fit. The mounting slots are in the correct place, and the size of the skirt is correct. I had to trim the upper corners (I used a hacksaw to cut an angle off), and I had to enlarge the slots a little to get the bolts to fit (yeah, I should of just used smaller diameter bolts, especially since I had to use longer bolts anyway...). If you do this, you'll need to remove the inner rear plastic that shapes the back of the mower interior - three screws that you get at from the back of the mower (5/16 wrench or nut driver). The whole thing took me a half hour or so, and I was back in business. This part seems more rugged than the original, which is good. I also think this part is important - I think it keeps the mower from throwing rocks and debris back towards your feet and legs.

I have a Murray 21” walk behind / push mower. The original skirt was ate up by the blade as I was mowing the yard. Upon searching, this part resembled mine and when arrived after purchase, it matched perfectly. Once I replaced the old one this part went in nicely as it were the original. My original part number is 416860 and this part is 413160. I just hope it lasts 3 - 4 years as the original.

Had to return the skirt guard because the mounting slots did not line up with the screw holes on my Poulan Pro 22" lawn mower.
