New Fm Antenna Male with 3.5 Jack Adapter for Any Bose Wave or Acoustic Wave Music System

This is a solid portable “thumbtack” antenna like the ones they used to ship with home stereo systems in the 80’s and 90’s. Shaped like a “T” when unfurled. Can’t go wrong with this proven design. It has an F type connector like the one that works with cable tv connections. Into that is simply an adapter to allow it to plug into something like a weather radio, which is what I’m using it for. Specifically with a Sangean DT-400W. It works “just ok” with the weather frequencies and inside my home take some manipulation to get the antenna just right, but that’s pretty normal. It picks up FM radio music stations on the same radio very, very well, which is what it’s intended for. Since it already had an F-type connector, I took off the plug adapter and connected it to a 2nd floor television set to see if it would pick up any channels. Despite trying lots of different positions, no luck picking up any tv stations, but that’s not the intended use anyway so I’m still perfectly happy with it.

I purchased a Bose Wave radio approximately 8 years ago and did indeed receive an antenna with the radio; it had much thinner, silvertone wiring. I misplaced that antenna. I live in Northwestern NJ and LOVE WQXR; the classical station from New York City, and can't tune in despite the radio's location on the second floor of my hilltop house. This antenna catches QXR pretty clearly. Not crystal, but clear enough to enjoy a lot! The antenna is about the same length as the original, but as you can see from the photo, it is double strand copper in a flat 1/2 inch wide ribbon wire. Pardon my lack of electricianese. Had to tape it to the wall behind the radio. I took a photo so you can see how rather unsightly it is, and again apologies for the poor quality of the pic, but I do not give more than one star's damn about that. I recommend the antenna. It is a fair price with a good result.

Great addition to my new Bose Wave. My Wave picked up more stations than most radios in my home but after adding this antenna I have a larger selection of stations and less of the stations have that low static sound. It was very easy to plug in and matched the antenna slot on my wave with ease. I can say this product was well worth it and I'd recommend it to help improve reception. It look me less than a minute to install it. I use my Bose in my kitchen and it is placed on top of my refrigerator, this antenna was easy to conceal. Buy it, you won't regret it.

Works ok but nothing special.

This for me, is the best antenna I could have gotten for my Bose Wave radio. Since my cord is blocked from receiving signals. (Who would've thought the cord was a receiver.) Anyway, this antenna rocks!

So my friends Bose radio did not come with an external FM antenna despite my disbelief that such a costly product would not include one. A search of Amazon indicated that apparently he was correct as this product was offered for sale. I purchased it and had it delivered to his Brooklyn location (where one really needs an antenna when one lives in a brick and steel high rise building). My friend was delighted with this product, which by proper orientation provides for a noise free listening experience of his favorite station licensed to Newark NJ. Highly recommended purchase, as for a reasonable price you can greatly improve the performance of the underlying radio.

I purchased this for my Bose Wave Music System IV - Espresso Black to increase reception of the FM stations and also to try to tune into some stations that were just out of reach.I plugged this into the FM antenna port on the Bose and no matter how I or my boyfriend manipulated this FM antenna, it did nothing to increase reception of the FM stations. Unfortunately, this antenna purchase was useless for me. Had it worked I would have rated this five stars because the wire is sturdy and the adapter fits perfectly.UPDATE 10/1/2015 - I decided to return this for a refund. This must be defective since everyone else rates this high; however, no matter what my boyfriend and I did, this would not work.

This item did not really improve my reception. Some channels did get better reception however for most of them there was no change. To be fair, there has always been issues where I am using this but that's probably why people purchase an external antenna in the first place. Guess I was expecting a lot more improvement when I made the purchase.
