Bible of Options Strategies, The: The Definitive Guide for Practical Trading Strategies 2nd Edition

This book is great to have beside the computer to refer to while trading. Guy Cohen does a great job explaining the details of option spreads, when to use a certain spread, how to get in, getting out, selecting the stock, selecting the option along with advantages and disadvantages, it's all there. I have found this book very helpful in my option trading. He explains the Greeks and also an example at the end of each option description. There is how ever one negative aspect of this book, the author refers to his proprietary OVI indicator and the only way to get that is to subscribe to his web site, other than that the book is a wealth of information for options.

Very well written, great examples and thorough. It is on my desk and is referenced offen.

It's a pretty good book. I refer to it a lot. But watch for an optimistic bias in the writing. I was tipped off to it on the first page of the first section of the book. In the Preface there's a statement that reads; "Because the cost basis is so low, the position is much more sensitive to the underlying stock's price movements, and hence your percentage return can be so much greater." I would adjust that to say returns AND LOSSES can be so much greater. The book is still worth the purchase with a ton of very useful knowledge. It's just a skepticism I keep in mind as I read.

This book is indeed very practical. It states a vast number of options trading strategies with detailed descriptions and analysis. It also categorizes strategies into different types which allows readers to pickup their desirable one meeting their needs.It's a great reference book which options traders must not miss!

Using as a reference source for new option strategies. Very well written and covers almost all option strategies. 400+ Pages.

Definitely not a book you would call “the bible “of anything.

FYI: I edited this review, before I gave it a 4/5 for minor mistakes but now giving it a 2/5 because there are alarming mistakes! 2/5 stars because if this book was actually edited probably, these mistakes would've been avoided. Example of mistakes: the info on Long Iron Condor is actually for a Short Iron Condor and vise versa, on page 170 for the bear call ladder, it should be sell, buy, buy in the example but it has it as buy, sell, sell. There are other 1 star review that points out other mistakes, wish I saw that before I bought this. Will be returning it ASAP! I can find all the info in this book online and trust that it is correct for FREE but I wanted a book to hold/flip through while at the desk. Not going to pay $30 for bad info.
