Dont waste your money
These arent like the ones from the 60's. My grandmother had these and they worked great. I was still young, about 7-8 when My family went to G'mas for holiday meals like Thanksgiving, Christmas & easter, She had the aluminum ice cube trays that looked like these. She never had a problem extracting the cubes, never had to run under waterfirst. The release handle on G'mas was tougher & worked right. The handle on these are weak & thin. Dont waste Your time or money.I ended up buying these - Kitch Ice Tray Easy Release White Ice Cube Trays, 16 Cube (Pack of 2).They are plastic, made in the USA w/o any junk plastics.MADE IN THE USA: Proudly made in the USA out of top quality FDA approved materials. At times old school is better then new school.
Hey all......Matthew from Santa Paula, CA. these old-school ice trays are simply great. I have had the plastic ones for years. And learned that it took twice as long for ice to happen. So, I remembered that I grew up with these Aluminum trays, so I took a chance and I do appreciate them all over again. Besides it's been years since I upgraded back to Aluminum trays and very pleased that I did. So I do suggest you give them a try, you won't be disappointed. At times old school can be better than new school Thanks Amazon.

It’s OK
It works for what I need it for which to make ice however, I realized the handle is not strong enough if you’re not careful, it will get bent or break. My advice if you decide to purchase this item when you are about to remove the ice from the tray, it is best that you put it under some room temperature water in the sink in order for it to be a little bit more easier and hopefully not to break the handle so that the ice could release a little easier . Other than that it Service purpose.

WASTE OF MONEY
Don't buy these unless you like to spend money on things that don't work as they are supposed to.I realize that I could go to the Dollar Store and buy some cheap plastic ones, but I am trying to stay away from plastic in my kitchen.I sold a house about 8 years ago and left the old ice cube trays with the fridge when I moved out...not even thinking that I would ever regret leaving those trays behind. The trays were in the freezer when I bought the house 10 years before, and they were wobbly, spilly and sharp, but they froze up quickly and when I lifted the handle, the ice cracked out. Boy, do I ever regret leaving them now. I hesitated spending over $10 for a single ice cube tray, but I primarily use it to make iced coffee cubes since I have a wonderful ice maker in the freezer for my regular ice.WELL, I made my first batch of cubes yesterday, and when I went to crack them out the handle bent like it was made of butter!!! The handle didn't engage the cracking mechanism at all...it just bent.I wish I could go back in time and get those old, crappy, but sturdy trays.

Old fashioned
It certainly mimics ice trays I remember as a kid. When u pull up on “handle” it is a bit flimsy, but it works. Not the easiest release of cubes, I do run the tray under water.

Works just like they did back in the 1970s!
We are thrilled with this ice tray.

Cheaply made
The ice cube trays worked well for a while but broke within 7 months. The handle bends easily (which can be worked around) and then the hinges stopped working altogether so you can’t even break up/release the ice cubes at all anymore. Since they were half the price of some others I suppose I got my money’s worth but won’t purchase these again because of the hassle.
