Q: What side is the patch for?

You can use it for either side. Just flip it over. (That being said these patches do not work well, you can’t slide them far enough up on the nose to block all vision).

Thought to have found a reusable solution to use and throw away patches

They are too small, so once mounted onto glasses the wearer can see under them which totally defeats the purpose.
