Third time might be the charm
UPDATED 6/28/20: Anker reached out after my original review and sent a replacement headset. I've been using this one (my 3rd try with this specific model) for a week, and so far it is doing well. It is comfortable to wear for long online teaching sessions (I have it on for up to four hours at a time), and the sound through the earpieces is good. I've recorded videos to check the sound quality of the microphone, and it is clear as well. I also appreciate the in-line mute and the fact that the boom mic is removable, so that will make them easy to travel with, which I have to do on a regular basis. So, it appears that the third time is a charm, with this headset finally living up to Anker's solid reputation.ORIGINAL REVIEW (6/5/20): I ordered this headset for teaching online and found it to be very comfortable, and I appreciated the inline mute. However, after two days, the headset developed horrible static in the middle of a class. I returned that pair and ordered another, and after two days, the microphone stopped working. I tried it on three different devices, and while all three would output sound via the headset, none of them recognized the microphone for input. I have many Anker products (two Bluetooth speakers, Bluetooth headphones, a USB-C hub, multiple charging ports and cables, etc.) and regularly recommend their products to friends as well as other online teachers, so I decided to reach out to the company for a resolution instead of returning the headset to Amazon and posting a negative review. Anker offered to replace the item — after I returned the original and waited an additional 5 to 9 business days after that for the new ones to arrive. That’s too long of a turnaround for something I use on a daily basis. So be advised: if you’re within the return window, it’s much easier to return these to Amazon and get another brand, as this product has consistent quality-control issues.

Great all around headset
I’ve had the Anker stereo headset for about a month now, and they are exactly what I expected. My initial impressions of the headset were positive. The aux cord that connects to your controller is thick and sturdy, while the headset design is simple and sturdy. The gel pads make a nice seal around your ear, and are very effective at blocking out sound. The overall sound quality is superb for the price point. I genuinely think they sound better than my ‘Beats’ headphones. As far as performance in game, the headset was exactly what I was looking for. I'm a console gamer so 7.1 sound was effectively off the table. The stereo sound helped me identify the direction of loot boxes, gunfire, footsteps, ect. The mic sound is clear, not perfect, but more than good enough for casual gaming with friends. Before buying the headset read some reviews that the headset wasn’t loud enough. This most certainly isn't the case. The headset is plenty loud, just adjust your output on your gaming device and you should be fine. There were a couple negatives with the headset. The kids lock or whatever the marketing team described it as is a complete joke. It just gets in the way of the mute switch. Also the mic is adjustable and removable which is great, but is attached by a simple 3.5mm jack and seems a bit prone to breaking. Overall, I am very happy with the headset. If you are not looking to buy the top tier headsets, but you also don’t want super cheap Chinese headsets, then Anker is a great middle ground. Happy gaming!

Anker quality is always great.
Anker always puts out quality products! These are no different very impressed for the price the sound is great, especially for racing games the surround sound let's you hear which side another car is on. The noise canceling is actually decent when there is something playing, you really can not hear much of anything!

Good headset but only lasted 45 days
This gaming headset was good while it lasted but didn't last long. Only 45 days.It was delivered on Jan 31 and microphone stop working on March 16th.It went thru few gaming headsets, some where very inexpensive junk that I didn't expect to last but Soundcore Strike 1 was the shortest lasting headset I ever head. From my prior experience with Anker products I expected more. The microphone is plugable and maybe I can get new microphone but I suspect that the issue is with in-line volume control/mute button. I think what went bad is the mute button. On one occasion I was able to make the microphone work again by turning on and off the mute button. But this only worked once and now is always on mute. This tells me that quality of some components is not very good.Sound is good for gaming but no where as good as Anker Soundcore Life Q10 that I just got week ago. However that is expected, I'm just stating this to give reference. This headset best feature is the comfort, I think this is one of the most comfortable gaming headsets I ever owned.Sound quality is good for gaming headset and on pair with many other headsets I owned before.Microphone sound is very good, when you play online with other people you can not hear yourself but if you have bad mic your friends will tell you. This mic is good, no echo, good clear sound on the receiving end.In general this headset could have been solid 4 stars maybe even 5 stars given the value and performance if it could last longer. However I can not recommend these headsets to anyone based on my experience. I expect any headset to last at minimum 12+ months but ideally couple to few years.
