A Steal for the Money!! Great Sound and Durability.
I have owned these since 2015 and they are going strong after one move into a new house. They blend perfectly with the stucco color of my house, but above all they sound fantastic. I consider myself an audiophile and demand great sound from my audio gear, these will not disappoint you. I was lucky in 2015 to get these for $161, now they go for $279 in 2020, but they are still worth it. The moveable tweeters and wide soundstage plus clarity make these a no-brainer. I run them from my living room Denon AVR-X1600H using zone 2 and the sound is balanced with decent bass, and will play extremely loud before they have any audible distortion. Definitely a step above Polks and Yamaha patio speakers in this price range, I have owned both those brands. Pull the trigger, you won’t be disappointed.

Unbelieveable Value!!!
This is the 3rd set of Proficient AW650's I've bought. I first 2 were installed in a previous residence, at the time I was amazed at the tonal qualities for being in the wide open space of the backyard, unprotected as they were mounted on posts among the landscaping. Unbelievable base (no need to purchase a sub for outdoors) for the size, plus nailing those highs. That was 4 years ago and the current owners still rave about them. Fast forward my new home, just installed a single pair under the eves at the far edges of the house (a smaller yard), kids had a party last weekend and again the same result. Beautiful sound reproduction in the outdoors. Excellent coverage and tone throughout the pool and yard. Still tweaking the system, but these speakers deliver more bang for the buck than anything else I've found. There is no way you can go wrong with these...Enjoy

I like them.
I am not an audiophile, more of an enthusiast.Pros: Sound Quality, Build Quality, Swivel Tweeters. These replaced a pair of older Polk speakers which were decent but became weathered over many years. I wanted something with a bigger projected sound stage and these fit the bill. They are not as efficient as the Polks, but sound much better with proper amplification. If you are used to listening with a sub-woofer, you will likely still want one to accompany these. Not that the bass is weak or bad, in fact it's very good for this price, it's just not sub-woofer level bass. The frequency response curve seems pretty flat. Many people like that, others do not, so one may want to consider pairing them with an amp that has bass/treble controls or an equalizer to tweak them to their taste. Overall I am very happy with them for the price.

Look no further.
I put 120 watts RMS into each one and I can say Top Notch product. Clean and crisp with mild bass but hits really nice mid push at the woofer. I won't even bother with ones twice the money. I bought Niles 6.5 and these. Step up with these.

Some of the best outdoor speaker I have heard!
I own a small custom home theater company in Miami and I first heard Proficient speakers a few years ago when we were installing a new amplifier for a client with an existing home theater and shortly after connecting the amp I decided to remove one the speakers from the back to find out what they were. I couldn't believe the sound these Proficient In ceiling speakers were producing, and pretty much immediately I started recommending them to other clients and they all love them. I Now I replaced my outdoor speakers and bought a pair of Proficient AW6500 and the sound is amazing. The speakers play a full range of sound going down to 37hz the highs are crystal clear and the build quality is amazing. Installation is a breeze and on top of that the tweeters swivel so you can aim them to fine tune the listening area, and they come with a 10 year warranty. Highly Highly recommend!

Wow!
Wow is all I can say. I recently performed a trial run with these two speakers in my backyard and was blown away by their sound quality. The speakers sound crisp, with good mid range and very good bass, I tried different types of music (rock, rap etc.) and it performed very well. There was no detectable distortion at loud volumes. Oh and by loud I mean these speakers, given the correct power of course, can get very loud. While only for a little while, since I felt uncomfortable cranking that kind of volume in the neighborhood, it was loud enough to be mistaken for a live concert in my backyard. I have yet to test them out as outdoor theater speakers and will update my review once I have tried them out. I definitely recommend these as I am very impressed.

These sound really good on my patio
These sound really good on my patio. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on outdoor speakers that will go through hot summers and cold snowy winters. They did not disappoint.

Sound good
I got these to replace some Polk Atrium 4's that I have outside. I wanted more bass. These sound better than the Polk's. They do have more bass, but not as much as their specs might suggest. The Polk's were rated at 75Hz and up, these are rated at 37Hz and up. There was no indication if this was the -3db or -10db point. Based on my listening, I would think they are more in the 50-60Hz range. Better than the Polk'sAs for the mid-range, I believe they are better than the Polk's as well. These have a nice clear sound in the mid-range, the Polk's did seem a little muffled in that area.I can't tell so much about the high frequencies, my hearing is not what it once was.I see a lot of reviews on cheaper outdoor speakers and the Polk Atrium 4 wins a lot of those reviews. I think the Proficient AW650 is better than the Polk Atrium 4.The Proficient AW650 is more expensive, quite a bit, than the Polk Atrium 4. If you are buying a new speaker and not a replacement, the Proficient AW650, I would recommend over the Polk. If you are doing an upgrade as I did, the Proficient is better, but is it worth it. I am happy, and do not regret the purchase.Only time will tell. The Polk's were about 6 years old, hopefully the Proficient's will last longer.
