The Perfect EDC
Harnds has done it again! They hit a home run with the Vanguard. I could tell when I opened the box that it was going to be special but I didn't expect it to be this nice. The Vanguard came neatly packed in a canvas belt sheath and I thought it might be heavy. After removing the knife from the sheath it was obvious the knife wasn't too heavy or too big but just the right size. On the first attempt I was able to flick the blade open with my thumb on the ambidextrous thumb disc. and it opened and locked with a positive click. The handle is a gorgeous OD green and the blade is blacked out with gray titanium. There is a spacer near the tail of the knife that is perfectly executed and the jimping on the blade is also just right. The pocket clip is reversible tip up carry and matches the blade in a gray titanium. The steel liners are milled out to reduce weight and makes this knife a VERY comfortable 4 and a half ounces. After carrying the knife and using it I now have a new go to for every day carry. I LOVE this knife!! It's as good as any Kizer or Civivi knife out t here. Save yourself some money and buy a Harnd's Vanguard and feel the difference. Perfection!

Best bang for the buck !
This knife, for the cost is amazing. D2 steel blade, sharp, rivals knives I’ve paid trice as much for.

very difficult to open with one hand
Once opened, the knife is very well made, sharp, balanced and easy to hold. I feel that the handle is a little bit to thick for an edc knife and the ridges on top of the blade are to smooth for safe operation. The biggest issues I have with this knife is the fact that opening it with one hand is very difficult.Even after applying oil and opening the knife with 2 hands numerous times for lubrication purposes the mechanism was way to stiff.I like this brand and I like where its going so I believe this knife is mostly a fluke as all of their other products that I owned were always 5 stars.

I like this knife use it every day. To big for the pocket but I carry it in my lunchbox.

Great EDC Knife
Just got mine & Im lovin it so far. It feels great in hand and the action is very good for pb washers. The clip carries deep and secure. The tension on the clip holds firm and keeps the knife in place. The G10 scales provide excellent grip without feeling abrasive. Its light yet feels substantial when gripped. The liners are skeletonized and the pivot is D shaped so this is well worth the money.Harnds D2 has been tested at 60 and 60.3 HRC so you can buy with confidence. Ive sharpened Harnds D2 & 14c28n and both took a beautiful edge and showed signs of being great steel.I have high hopes for the Vanguard. Gven my experience with my other Harnds knives, I see no reason for them to be let down. Thanks Harnds!

The blade lock feature doesn't work - Beware!
The knife I received doesn't lock in the open position without putting pressure on the cutting edge of the blade. A blade folding at the wrong time could result in injury. This is either poor craftmanship or a quality control issue.
