Thunderstorm by Demeter for Women - 4 oz Cologne Spray

Just like the title says, It smells like bottled summer rain. Comes in a nice, big 4oz glass bottle, and lasts for a couple hours which is quite good (for me at least). This scent can pair nicely with some other perfumes or colognes as it has a relatively light scent, strong at first with a heavy petrichor smell but it tapers off to a light, floral sweetness that reminds me of the way a garden might smell after some rain. 5/5, highly recommend

Smelled like mildew, not petrichor

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when I bought this (my friend told me to buy it). But I LOVE THIS. When it is first sprayed, it smells like wet, freshly cut grass and dirt. Once it dries, it fades to a sweeter (but not too sweet, thank goodness) scent that is reminiscent of how someone smells after they were just rained on. The scent lingers close to the skin and lasts on me for about 3-4 hours (I hear this is good longevity for a demeter). I personally love that it isn't a super strong smell that takes up a whole room because I hate when other peoples' perfumes (no matter how good it smells) assault my senses, so I wouldn't want to do the same to others. I will say, it does vaguely remind me of patchouli oil. So if you're not a fan of that, you might not want to get this.

I really wanted to like this. I really did, but I had such high hopes because I LOVE the smell of after it rains, which plenty of people on forums mentioned this smelled like. However, on me it ends up smelling like wet grass, corn and dirt with the aftertaste of a cheap cologne. I actually like the hint of dirt scent, but the wet grass scent with the cheap cologne scent strongly overpower it for my liking. It was a miss with me sadly, but I'm sure it'd be a hit with someone else.

After ordering a sampler from Demeter, I immediately knew I had to order a full sized bottle asap. Found it here for much cheaper. It arrived on schedule, in it's original box, packaged nicely. I immediately sprayed it to make sure it was the real thing, and it is! This scent has become a necessity for me. I wear it as an everyday scent, sometimes layered with wet garden or lilac, but mostly on it's own. I spray it on my body and on my clothes, 4 inches away, and it lasts all day. It's a love it or hate it fragrance. Most people love it, and I'm it's biggest fan! It is so unique and spot on. It really does smell like the air and earth just after a thunderstorm on a humid Michigan day. Ozone, wet soil, it is amazing. I call it happiness in a bottle. Couldn't be more thrilled with my purchase. Thank you!

A few years ago I ordered this same product but the bottle was smaller. At that time I couldn't quite figure out if I liked it or not. The smell seemed to dissipate very quickly but then there was this faint lingering, difficult to describe scent that followed me. In the end I agreed that Thunderstorm was an appropriate name but I wasn't quite sold on it. Fast forward to now. Ordered a bottle and this was a much larger size. The smell was familiar but seemed a tad more intense and even longer lasting than I recalled from before. Now this Thunderstorm has somehow grown on me and I reach for it frequently. I wouldn't call it a sophisticated scent. It is different but an intriguing choice.

This company has so many wonderful fragrances that can be mixed together I think everyone can find a signature scent that makes them feel wonderful. Thunderstorm with a little beet-root smells like a fresh rain hitting warm earth on a summer day and I wear it almost every single day. I highly recommend spending some time looking through their scent library. Try things in the smaller roller-ball size untill you find your perfect fragrance.

I have over 100 perfumes, I'm a collector, and this is by far the most horrible one I've ever bought. I wanted a perfume with a petrichor (wet soil) scent, and it smells like scorched water with a some sweet mix that makes me headache... if you want an authentic petrichor and wet soil scent, I recommend first rain by Isak; it's more expensive, but it's worth it.

I’m super impressed. I love the smell, truly authentic and ozone rain, electric quality to it. Thunderstorm has delivered! My second favourite Demeter fragrance, nearly as good as “Dirt”!

Mi aspettavo una fragranza corrispondente alla descrizione: profumo di pioggia e terra bagnata (petrichor). Magari se non proprio così, almeno qualcosa tipo erba fresca. Dopo un mese di attesa apro la confezione, spruzzo sul polso l'essenza: un intruglio chimico pungente. Questo è quello che mi arriva all'olfatto. Poi a qualcuno magari piacerà, ma per me non andrebbe bene neanche come deodorante per ambiente. Peccato.

Preso dalla curiosità della fragranza l’ho comprato, ma è qualcosa di disgustoso e nauseabondo per me, non vi lasciate ingannare però dalla marca perchè la Demeter fa profumi fantastici e meravigliosi
